Hello everyone,
I recently converted my ps3 to dex and I am currently on 4.20 dex. I can run Sleeping Dogs and Batman AC without any issues. But i am having problems with GT5. I downloaded the 1.05 update for GT5 and patched it to run with dex. Now when I start the game it shows that a new update(ver 2.07) is available. I cancel it and then it shows me the Sony Computer Entertainment logo followed by the Polyphony Digital logo and then finally the warning screen with white text on black. But after that there is a black screen and nothing happens but the PS3 does not freeze(i.e. I can access the in game XMB to quit the game and all).
Can anyone please give me some advice on solving this issue?

Bump...!! I have tried everything but I get the same results..

I have GT5 up an running like a charm. All I had to do is - install all updates from 1.05 to 2.07 (17 updates as I recall). Two ways to do that - downgrade to 3.55 DEX, then install @itskamel 's 3.55 and install all retail updates and then update to 4.20 DEX and play the game, or just extract all the updates and then create one big debug (around 3.6 GB) update, containing all of them and install it directly on 4.20 DEX. Either way worked for me on my BLES00569 EUR ver.

P.S: Stop the internet access of your PS3 and it won't ask you for update. You can try that first, before trying what I said. Also remember - you cannot skip an update. If you wish to play on 2.07 you must first install all previous updates first. You cannot install 1.05 and then directly 2.07, without installing the other updates. Most likely that is the reason for the black screen.

Thanks for the reply @benzinjiq . Right now i have the game on 1.05 and its black screening. How do I create that huge debug file? Or is it somewhere around here?? If you have it can you please upload it somewhere if its feasible?

I tried stopping internet access to my PS3 but even that resulted in a black screen.

Have you tried to delete your GT5 game data, then install the PKG with the update again without internet connection?

I can get 1.05 to 1.13 to run fine on DEX 4.11, but whenever I try 2.0 update pkg I just get a black screen, and it forces the console into a hdd scan.. Any ideas?

Are you sure you did not skipped an update in the process? If thats the case, just erase your game data and install all updates one by one - do not skip any update or you'll face a black screen again.
