Many, many thanks Aldo for your help!
Very much appreciated!
I managed to get everything working.

I created a fixed Portal 2 Update 1.01 (BLES01222):
http://rghost.net/39894640

Just install the pkg, no need to replace any files manualy.
Works with the clean and untouched gamefiles.
Tested on rebug 3.55.2.

Where do i locate the self/sprx files in the game?
there's a combo called "Ctrl+F"... write it down in a piece of paper because it might be useful later..

Then you copy them back to their original location in the PKG and make a new PKG. (PARAM.SFO's PS3_SYSTEM_VER must be set to 3.55 or lower).

google this file and if you're on 64Bit place that in the SysWOW64 folder... re run the app and voila. make you sure you have the visual runtime installed as well

Aldo, maybe you could explain to me since you wrote the tools... I've been trying to "fix" dirt3 ... i have the bles version... i'll tell you what i did and if you could (i'd greatly appreciate it) let me know what i'm messing up coz it's just not working...
first, i copied dirt3 to hdd (i heard it works internal only - tried external also but same story)
anyways, i continued by downloading the update (22mb pkg that i installed)
at this point, i grabbed the eboot from hdd and ctrl + double clicked it... got the popup, decrypt/encrypt etc... (if a log is required, i can restart the process)
then i put the new eboot back on hdd...
back in multiman, i check the game settings to internal and just out of curiosity i clicked update to which i was astonished to see that it was still asking for the update.. anyhow i cancelled that and start+X dirt3...
back on xmb, x to start game.. i get this message that it's a 3.60 game and that i should update my console.. cancel and another message that this title can't be played, cancel again...
and that's that....
oh and i did have param.sfo changed to 3.55
verified with your tool also double clicked the eboot and there was no 3.60 anywhere that i could see

tried the scenefiles dirt3 eboot to no avail as well...
so there's gotta be something that i'm completely missing or just skipping entirely...

anyways hope i've explained myself well and again I thank you for your great contributions to this scene!

Something just came to me... is it possible that i would need a database rebuild ?

Guys, I might be too paranoid, but my Eset AV has marked the file ps3tools.zip as malware, also several other AVs mark it as malicious file (via VirusTotal)... Well, what do you think about it?
