In a way they are right, only games that have updates can be played on DEX. No game can be played if you only backup the original disk with original Eboot....

OK, dongle makers are going way to far. I can stand CobraUSB, they have implemented a lot of new stuff and haven't been releasing revisions of their dongles, I don't consider their product a rip off, instead is like an addition to the PS3 console, with constant support and updates.

True Blue in the other hand, has been messing around with their customers, erasing hard drives, probably cloning themselves xD to make more money, not posting news regarding their advancements in a constant manner and God knows what else. But most importantly hurting the scene by not releasing any information on how they accomplish the decryption / patching of the game files.

The dongle itself is just a frontend to the already decrypted game files, that is why it has been cloned many times, the most interesting thing on the dongle is the security on it, nothing else.

I just hope, and I pray to God, that by the end of this year, a REAL hacker comes around the PS3 scene and save it, by releasing keys, decryption methods, and blow wide open the PS3 console with no way for $ONY to patch it up.

Btw, I own a TB clone, and other dongles from the beginning of the scene movement, but I get them mostly for research purposes, since actually I can't see what so special of their MFW, play new games?...xD, appart from that everything else is implemented in other CFWs.

PS: DO NOT SUPPORT TRUE BLUE ANYMORE, IF YOU CAN, USE DEX FOR YOUR 3.55+ GAMING NEEDS. YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY ANYTHING. JUST READ SOME TUTORIALS AND HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE.

SeeYa!

I love how you want to make excuses on their behalf for blatant disinfo and misinformation.

Exactly how many games these days don't receive an update/patch after release? Yeah, I thought so. And if they are 'right' 'in a way', then how about they mention exactly in 'which way' they are right?

It's all about how this gets presented to Joe Schmoe - he looks at the wiki, expecting it to state the truth, and walks away wth the impression 'no, you can't play 3.60+ backups on DEX'.

Using that logic, you can't play 3.60+ backups with True Blue either - you would still need to get a True Blue-approved patch and a True Blue-approved ISO before you can play your 'game'.

See what I did there? I can play this 'let's dance and bob and weave around the table' game too.

Anyway, I guess you people have no issue with liars as long as they are high on the totem pole, so know what? I don't give a **** either then.

So, how exactly updates make back ups playable on DEX? My undestanding was that to play a 3.6+ backup you needed to make a fself but without knowing the keys it was impossible. So, how does an update changes this? (I'm asking because I want to know, not because I'm testing you).

No disrespect to euss at all, but in all honesty I've thought this myself a couple of times before.

Keep in mind, I'm not the most knowledgeable person around this scene or community as I can name probably hundreds of others who are far superior in knowledge of the ps3 than myself...

BUT

Often things are just right under your nose...you just don't notice.

BUT

Why would he/they offer up countless support and help out the scene such so?

Is this scene just a big conspiracy?

shall we open ... "the scary door"?

Why dont you just edit anything you find wrong on the wiki? That'd be alot more constructive than throwing hissy fits imo...

I am thinking it would be hard to find the obfuscated parts. Perhaps it is not that lies are posted, but only half truths that are difficult to notice or things are just not posted there at all that could help us (i.e. Cex to Dex).

The dongle is still not on the market. My contacts don't know if it's coming back. Does anybody knows when we can expect the new dongle?
