hi i have recently managed to get my hand on a ps2 fat scph-39003 pal. i only baught this with a view to put linuk on.so do i just burn the iso load it up as i would a game? i have no dvd controller...im a noob with the ps2 allways very busy with ps3 ....any info would be great ............many thanks

Why dont your TEST it first, try it out. what sort of info would you expect/want?
Do you know what is Linux?
Have you google/search for the term "Linux"?

im on cobra cfw with a bc ps3, would it be possible to boot this linux with what i have? I lost my ar max ps2 disc so would there be another way to load .elf files? I have a swapmagic dvd v 3.6 but when i enter the disc into my ps3 and then enter the linux disc i burned it says invalid ps2 disc + when the linux dvd is in my ps3 bd drive it will say data disc and list it under pics/movies/music but not under games.....

I would say that might have to do with id's and how the iso was built...additionally this linux cd might be depending on certain memory locations of either a soft modded or hard modded ps2 that are not present in the ps3 bc emulator...

Personally I would just install linux on the ps3 part of the machine if you really want this ability I imagine it would be very slow through the emulator...

Though if you have a mind to I would start looking at ps2 images and compare to the linux live ps2 disc. I would imagine that if you might have to do some repacking possibly...

The thing is im on cobra cfw so installing linux on my ps3 is out of the question for now...... As for rebuilding the live linux ps2 iso... I wouldnt know how to do that.

Ah i see i dont use that firmware though i could have sworn some petit boot supported r u sure?

lol i have linux on a ps3 and as an os on pc. so yes i do want i dont know about it. The ps2 anyway i looked into and come to think that the ps2 is not worth more money or time i will stick with my 4 ps3 and thank you for your answer lol.ps i expect nothing from you.

if you use swapmagic you need kloader.elf on usb renamed to smboot(1-4).elf, i dont know if it will work on ps3 and i wouldnt recommend running linux this way on ps3, and it shows up under movies because it is burnt as one , the ps2 hack was built on the only update for ps2 the dvd remote.. getting around pressed disc protection.

if you run it on a ps2 without kloader, it plays as a dvd , well version 2 did.
