Moving Games From External PS3 HDD to PC

Hi guys,

Firstly my apologies if this is in the wrong section but I did search and did not really come across anything I was looking for.

Here is my situation. My launch PS3 just got the YLOD for the second time. First time I fixed it with the hair dryer and managed to get around 40+ additional hours out of it.

I am just about to purchase a PS3 Slim 250GB running 3.55 so I can mod it. Problem I have is I have a number of Games on the Internal hard drive of the YLOD PS3. I want to be able to move them to the internal of my new Slim when I receive it.

I was wondering the best way to do this. I do have an external enclosure, if I put the old Internal with the games on it into this and then connect it via USB, will Multiman be able to see these games?

Alternatively will a SATA enclosure into PC allow me to see the Multiman Games folder where the games are stored?

I am not too worried about save games etc. just looking for some help to get the actual games of the hard drive of my fried PS3.

Cheers.

Looks cool if comes to fruition.

Looking for more of a short term solution though just to get the game images off.

Re try the hair dryer method and then it should work long enough to move the games.

That is the only option.

Due to being encrypted:
A PS3 Internal HDD WILL NOT work as an external for any console and it will not work internally for any console other than the original.

Perhaps when that POC becomes usable by average Joe, you might be able to, but otherwise getting the original console working is your only way to get stuff off of the HDD.

That's the thing, if it was a foregone conclusion that I would never get the YLOD after a reball then yes I agree.

Didi the hair dryer again and melted some of the plastic casing but have got it working again and have started moving games to my external
