sorry i havnt been able to reply to your questions...bloody internet trouble...anyway i'll try as best as i can to tell you how i made the dump....Dragons dogma - crashed when i tried to boot using multiman...i was checking out different 3.55 fixes for the game...and also ran it without internal+bdemu (select + x) this caused a crash...you can tell when you make a core dump cos at the bottom left of the screen are little squares that start filling in white while the dump is being proccessed....i also made a core dump using showtime and trying to install the watchtv plugin...i havnt tried the multiman method. Mess with some files & a dump will happen...thats what ive been told
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* i also ran dead island...without (select+x) got a graphics crash ...caused dump...its all trial and error im afraid..well for me anyway |

@harryoke
Which version of Dragon's dogma? Bles? Blus? were you using a crack/fix? Which one?
I have the elf dumped from your core dump, and made an eboot from it already, but i don't know which version of the game this is for, or which eboot i should match it with. It seems different from the exetrimall bin/elf i found.. and i need to be sure the dump is ok, and we can get elfs from core dump. As for creating coredump/crashes, there's a number of scenarios that will lead to a crash offcourse. Bad files, missing files, removing USB storage when it's loading things. Sometimes even on a normal OFW ps3 things will crash and beep, but then we don't get a coredump file. Can you provide your settings for the core dump/dex you are running? So others can get dumps more easily? |

I'm pretty sure i can reconstruct the elf at this point, but your dragon's dogma coredump was not enough to let me make a proof-of-concept..

Hm I tried to make a dump of multiman - only for testing purpose - but I only received a ~ 2 MB large coredump file?!
And isn't the easiest way to let a game crash just to eject the BD/USB HDD while playing? |

You would need the crash to trigger, when the main eboot is in RAM.
Let's say "Game X" works like this 1. Starts up, loads main eboot.bin which displays a menu. 2. From the menu you can press start, and it loads a background for the selection options. 3. Get rid of the background file, or corrupt it somehow -> crash -> coredump should hold main eboot. I'd guess the best way to get crashes, is to do one 'as clean as possible'. I.e. don't crash "Call of Doodie" when it's loading another ELF for single- or multiplayer. It might just cleared the RAM before it went off and started loading
