assuming you cut the two wires between A/B and solder Tristate, removing tristate wire should be easy, but can you go to normal single game os boot, if you cut this connection or can you just solder a cable bridge between them again and everything is fine?

The HDD updates fine and all is ok until i try to switch back to CFW HDD by turning off power and flicking switch to CFW and swapping HDD. The PS3 comes on for like 5 seconds black screen and turns off again. I have read that im suppost to reflash Downgrade.bin file with switch set on OFW, which iv done and then the CFW HDD will start ok and boot, but when this is done the true blue dongle no longer works the light just stayes red. Any ideas??
@TDCroPower2 I'm having the same exact problem lately, is there any solution for this? please let us know, because now I cannot do the Dual Boot on my fat CECHL01 console

Hey KMAN82

Just wanted to say thanks for your awesome tutorial.

I am Fast Dual booting on a CECHL01 ver-001 mobo with 4.20 OFW and Rogero Cex CFW 3.5

Had all this done last month, but had some hdd issues and things and finally just got it working again.
Had to do the whole tutorial over, so was easy to follow

All thanks to (racer0018) for installation and soldering.

Wow! congratulations on achieveing something by connecting all those cables using the E3 linker! it looks like an spaghetti!, gave me a headache just by looking at it. You mention you achieved dual boot using 4.20 OFW and Rogero CEX CFW. I was trying to use true blue 3.55 CFW <==> 4.21 OFW, but I always get a YLOD on either one, and I can't do the fast dual Boot. Is it because I'm not supposed to use 4.21 OFW but 4.20 OFW instead? please, if you have the answer, let me know, thanks : ) I have a CECHL01 fat console by the way, and before I was able to use Dual Boot by following Kman82 and TDCroPower2 instructions, but I keep getting thhis friggin' YLOD.

And I just opened up my PS3, and all the connections seem to be OK, even the soldering points.

Thanks goes to racer0018 on the soldering those cables.
I wanted it soldered in. The only issue I had was making sure the cable was connected to softboard properly. I had to tape it down as well.
Anyway I never updated to 4.21 seeing it was optional and I still get on PSN on 4.20
I believe I can update to 4.21. I just haven't yet.

With the TB firmware, I am curious if you use the one from e3 flasher site(E3 TBJB2CFW CHECKOFF), or just the TB V2 firmware?

With all the new fixes out there, I decided not too bother with TB firmware and wait until more fixes are available. But originally when downgraded racer0018 had it dual booting with TB v2 firmware and 4.20 OFW
I have the NOR backups he made.

I have asked racer0018 if he will reply, as he did the soldering and being a ver-001 mobo. I am not sure what he did to get it too work.

With windriders ps3 it was easy but can't use wire wrap on that ps3 cause the wires are really short. So I just had to use shortest wires to make sure it all worked. Now for someone else post a picture of the install and make sure you tell me what motherboard that you have. And make sure you post a picture of the wires added for dual boot. And are you using the clip. Thanks

I'm currently using True Blue dongle updated to v2.7 and also True Blue CFW v2. I had no problem before switching from 4.21<==>3.55 TB cfw v2. I don't know what happened, but I will try the downgrade process one more time and post the results. I have a CECHL01 motherboard and I followed this tutorial before with good success, but If anyone has a different solution for this, please let me know.

No such luck I tried the whole downgrade process again, this time with E3 Checkoff TB CFW and OFW 4.11. I'm still getting YLOD everytime a flip the switch from OFW to CFW. turn off OFW HDD, replace with CFW, flip switch to CFW, beeps 3 times and then turns off. I'm running out of ideas

I seen a user that had a solution for this. I can't remember how he got it to work. But there is a way to do it.

I think he may have posted it in my guide, somewhere. He may have had a post with how to do it, also.

I'll try and find it, or try searching for it.

Here is his post in my guide http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p...&postcount=426

Here is his thread http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=39266
