Death Comes in 3s
I have three PS3s with these individual problems:
1. Red Screen of Death 2. Green Light of Death 3. Yellow Light of Death I have browsed the forum here on the YLOD and understand how to fix it. I wandering if somebody here will provide me with legitimate methods for fixing the other two problems. P.S. Please do not contact CS(Console Services) on me for the assumption of me abusing my consoles.

You can try to fix the rsod by entering fsm and using the lvl2diag rsod fix. Search for it and if you can't find it, I will upload it for you. The glod is an rsx problem. Either bad connection that needs reballing or a dead rsx altogether. I have all of these problems aswell. I have fixed 2 rsod and just for the ylod fixed. I haven't messed with the glod yet.

There is a RSOD fix, but only if you are on 3.55. You can read about it here..
http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/RSOD_Fix What's the green light of death?? I am only familiar with the other two.. |

Two out of three are on 3.55 cfw (they consist of the RSOD & YLOD) and the other one I don't know for sure but I'm guessing 3.41 ofw (GLOD).
Also all of them are PHAT models and differentiating between 40gb, 60gb (backwards compatible), and 80gb.

@poorguy
The glod is when the system turns on and stays green but never shows anything or any sound. Basically the system is booting up, but the graphics chip is not getting good contact or it is dead. I have one that worked fine, and I took it apart to repaste it. Well apparently the person before me already repasted it and when I pulled apart e console, I must have loosened the gpu from the board a little. Now I have glod

The YLOD can be temporarily fixed by baking your PlayStation 3's motherboard. If I find a video on it, I'll link you.

Its just recommend you reball the YLOD and GLOD PS3 as you'll almost never get GPU failure from overheating.

Look up rsod lvl2 diag fix. You have to go into fsm, then use the rsod lvl2 diag fix to exit. While exiting, it will cause the vtrm to be rewritten which is where the rsod comes from. Reflow the ylod and glod to make sure they both will work, then reball them if you want them to be perma fixed. I definitely suggest reflowing them both first because there could be other issues. If you go thru all the trouble reballing them and the glod is a bad rsx chip and ylod is something that can't be fixed, you will have wasted time and money. Good luck
