I am guessing that by now there is certainly the software to do it.

Last time I checked was when PS3 hadn't even come out yet, I had a PS2 and I had researched lots of ways to mod it. Wasn't easy to rip it back then though.

PS2 has copyright protection on the discs. as far as I am aware you CANNOT STRAIGHT RIP A PS2 DISC IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY IT.

IMGBURN is the best .iso ripping software and it is free too.
But you can't just straight rip a Playstation disc because of the copyright protection. Not if you want to be able to play it. This is why I wanted to know what software I need to rip Playstation discs specifically to circumvent the copyright protection.

Just like, you can't rip a protected DVD. But there is software to do that (I won't name it because it is irrelevant here and I don't want to advertise for them). But that software only works for DVD copyright, not Playstation discs.

Same thing goes for copyright-protected Music CDs - for that you need software to circumvent the DRM.

if you are talking about playing the copy on a unmodded ps2 then it can't b done.
