only if you are on 3.55 , and the sub files have to be in plain text i guess.

but the hassle is too much, it would be a pain in the ass.....just my thought.

First, thanks for the reply.

3.55 of course. I want to translate Max Payne 3 but there is no text file including dialogues or anything related to subtitles!

But it has to be a way for extracting the subtitle & translate it to something else then put it back in. You know?
How the subtitles attach to the game in first place? You know?!

Just basic questions. unfortunately i'm a beginner in Modding, Hacking, etc. So do you have any suggest like should i ask hackers or developers! or whatever.

I think the community needs such a program.

Actually I do translate PS3 games in my language, but it is not just - find .txt, edit it and play, for sure. For every game the approach is different. The basics are - find the text (it could be anywhere - from normal xml files, to ****ty .forge ubisoft archive); then find a way to open/edit it, and finally pray that the game won't crash with the translation.
Haven't looked through MP3 yet. So I cannot give you exact guide for it.

On a side note, to what language you want to translate? Because the fonts can be pain in the ass too.

I make Bulgarian translations, so I use Russian files from games (Cyrillic fonts)

Btw, I totally forgot - this where you have to start reading

Well you could be in trouble, but it is not impossible. Sicnce the right to left, I think you'll have to do a lot of modifications. Firstly you have to find the font and edit it. The easyest way is if you can open it and convert it in dds, then open it with photoshop. From there comes the annoying part - draw each letter one by one in place of english letters, maintaining the exact size.

I strongly recommend that you read through the link I gave you, and find another Arabic modders there, that would gladly help you if you ask the right questions.
I would also suggest to try translating something easier - a smaller game, or any game that has Arabic translation - official or not. Just try to do some modifications, so you could learn the basics.
Once again - it is not an easy task, translating a game. There is not an universal method/program, to extract/modify/repack the text. Only one way - the hard one.
Other advise is that you try messing with a PC version of a game first. After this it is not that hard to port the translation. Usually in PS3 versions the difference is the endianess and the encoding. Xbox 360 versions are pretty much like PC versions, and are pretty easy to test if you have a JTAG.

If you just want to try something for PC the easiest game to translate that I recall right now is Ghost Recon Future soldier. There is only one file containing the text - "Oasis_English.inf" which can be opened with every text editor, but I strongly suggest that you use Notepadd++

If you have more questions I would be glad to help if I can, but you must also do a massive research yourself. It is a deep hole, the rabbit one
