When Qa Flag is toggled on, the ps3 will look to the drive for the pup file first.

Looks like you will need to downgrade it again.

Edit - actually Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition has OFW 3.40.

Ok, I will explain what i did in details. Six or seven month ago i have downgrade my PS3 Slim using E3 Flasher Limited Edition to Rogero CFW don't remember the version but it has spoofer 3.70. Yesterday I have backup all the data on the HDD on external HDD Then do the update to Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5 from Recovery Menu and that is work fine. I have decided to do Restore PS3 System from Recovery Menu and deciadedthat what i did . When the PS3 Power On after restoration all the PSN, backups game, Multiman & Install Package are gone and Rogero logo replaced with PS3 original logo when start XMB. I access to Recover Menu again and do Update System using USB Flash have Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5 on it. The PS3 says i must have FW 4.00 or later i don't know Why but i think When Restore PS3 System the PS3 used the Update file ( OFW 4.00 ) in Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition if it have OFW 4.00. I have decided to do backup restore and that what i did. When the restoration reach %63 i canceled it and when PS3 power on again i find that all PSN and backups game back again but there is no Install Package option and still display PS3 original Logo. I have try to play Crash Bandicoot 1 PSN ( Cracked not original ) and it is work fine then i exit the game and try Resident Evil 4 HD PSN when start the game it display text which says I have 3.40 FW and the game required FW 3.55 or later ?!. I access the Recover Menu to do System Update but when i reach %30 or %35 the update cancelled automatically i don't know why ?!. I try to play RE 4 HD again the display the same massage and Click yes to update the PS3 show me if i am sure what to install FW 4.00 i don't have this FW on my USB Flash So i have eject RE 4 HD Disc and try again now i says Rogeron CFW v3.55. Now i go back to normal PS3 with Rogero CFW 3.55...

But why all that happened ?! from FW 4.00 to FW 3.40 because i restore my PS3 backup How is that possible?

Maybe i don't see the FW version on the first time well but when i want to update the FW after Click on Resident Evil 4 HD and click yes to update display the version i want to install which is FW 4.00 and after eject Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition it display Rogero CFW v3.55 which i have on USB Flash. Now i am sure i have FW 4.00 on the first time

You must have OFW 4.00 stored somewhere. On you internal or an external drive.

You installed OFW 3.40 at first, from the disc. Then you some how installed 4.00.

When installing firmware, you should always remove the disc and any other usb devices. Except for the usb you are using to install.

And you should have definitely not accepted the update, when you seen it said 4.00.

Well, this time when you downgrade. Follow my guide below. and you will be all set.

I really don't know how but yes i am on Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5 Now. but I want to know How this happen...?! Is this related to E3 Flasher work or the backup i do it before do anything...?!

I will explain again with steps this time. I have PS3 Slim downgraded using E3 Flasher Limited Edition & Rogero CFW 3.55 wit spoofer v3.70. I did this steps yasterday with Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Disc in the Drive:

1- Backup my PS3 System on external HDD.
2- Update Firmware from Recovery Menu using USB Flash to Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5 with spoofer 4.21.
3- Restore PS3 System from Recovery Menu and When XMB start all my data PSN, Backup Game, Multiman, Install Package option & even Rogero logo replaced with original PS3 logo.
4- I go back to Recover Menu to Update PS3 and says i must have Firmware 4.00 or later. I think When i did restoration it install OFW 4.00 from Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Disc.
5- I eject RE 5 Gold Edition Disc and restore my backup from XMB Windows and When i reach %63 i press Circle to cancel the restoration.
6- When Start XMB i find the most of my PSN, Backup Game and Multiman but i still have original PS3 Logo.
7- I try to Play Crash Bandicoot 1 PSN guess what it is work and play the game.
8- I try to play different PSN Game so i choice Resident Evil 4 HD.
9- When start the game it display test massage says i have Firmware 3.40 and this game required Firmware 3.55 or later.
10- I insert USB Flash that has Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5 with spoofer 4.21 into PS3 right USB and Click on Yes to update Firmware to Rogero CFW V3.5 from OFW 3.40.
( Note: Update Firmware from Recovery Menu will not work in this step the installation will cancelled automatically when it reach %30 or %35 )
11- After the Update i have go back to Rogero CFW 3.55.

I want to know How this happen downgrade without E3 Flasher...?! Is this related to E3 Flasher work or the backup i do it before do anything...?!

Can anyone try this method. If this true maybe we can update to OFW 4.20 to play original Disc and go back to CFW 3.55 to play backups game without using E3 Flasher or anything else...

No. I think you are mistaken, about the 4.00. You were never on OFW 4.00.

When you did this step:

You had Resident Evil 5 Gold edition in the disc drive. And you never toggled Qa Flag off.
So when you did that it installed the PUP file from the disc. Which was OFW 3.40. Since that is what firmware is on that game disc. SOURCE
When you have Qa flag toggled on and try to update, it looks at the disc drive first. And will upgrade or downgrade with that pup if there is a disc there with a PUP file on it.

So when you did this step:

You were already at OFW 3.40. This is why you did not see Rogero logo.
I do not know why it said 4.00 in recovery. Maybe you were mistaken? Or maybe it was a IDK???
Now when you did this step:

5- I eject RE 5 Gold Edition Disc and restore my backup from XMB Windows and When i reach %63 i press Circle to cancel the restoration.

That didn't do anything with the firmware. Restoring with the backup utilty is for saves, pics, videos, etc.. Nothing to do with restoring firmware at all.

I think you were on 3.40 the whole time. Not 4.00

When I did the 2nd step I install the Rogero CFW v3.55 not OFW 4.00 but when i did 3rd step I install OFW 4.00. Maybe your right but i think i saw OFW 4.00

No. You didn't.

Answer me this.

Did you toggle Qa flag off after dehashing?

In step 3, you say that you used the option 5. from the recovery menu?

5.RESTORE PS3 SYSTEM This will restore your system to original including, formatting and erasing all of the data on the HD and returnig all system settings to default. This will not take your system back to a previous Firmware release. Use this option as a last resort, unless you have nothing on the console that you want or you want to erase everything on the console, do not use this option.

This option does not do anything to your firmware.

EDIT - Also the reason your PSN games did not work is this:

Act.dat (PSN activation) gets deleted Make sure you backup the file before enabling QA-extra flag and downgrade. There have been reports of ACT.DAT ("home/000000XX/exdata/act.dat") get's deleted. So make sure to backup that entire folder before flagging/downgrading.

So you did a Qa flag downgrade to OFW 3.40, with the PUP file on your RE5GE disc.
