Hey guys,

I couldn't find an answer for my question through the search tool. If I install 3.55 CFW with peek and poke (rogero's firmware in particular), will it run games from the internal hard drive, or do all DEX firmware need the ps3gen process to play games ?

I think you are confused. Don't install Rogero DEX MFW on your CEX console.

You can install Rogero v3.4, which is a CEX CFW. It will allow you to play games from internal.

Well, thanks for answering, but I was actually talking about the DEX firmware, obviously after converting the console to DEX... I've been told before that the DEX 3.55 CFW with peek/poke works just like a regular 3.55 CEX firmware, only it's for DEX consoles. I just wanted to check if it can run backups directly from the internal hard drive.

No you will need to use Ps3Gen

Or use multiman but that will only work for 3.55 games or below

You can run from internal hdd but you can´t create the "games" folder inside hdd0. so you´ll have to be a little creative.
I´m actually curious where people have been putting their games.
I installed the old OpenManager backup manager and put my games in there. Multiman stil recognizes the folder. I guess it´s still in the configuration from the old days.

My plan is to install old games (less than 3.55) and games with eboots and fixes for 3.55 on the internal hdd, run them through multiman on 3.55 dex, install games using ps3gen on external hdd and run them through 4.20 dex. So basically it's switching between 4.20dex and 3.55dex. So ?

I guess I was confused. LOL.

Yes, you can play backups on your internal drive. I use Itskamel's DEX MFW. It works great. I'm sure Rogero's works also.
