Well the thing about kiosk FW is that You cannot just install it on a retail PS3, And if you somehow manage to convert it over, You cannot Go back using a retail FW. You must use a Reverter. IDK why though.

Yes but in order to make a reverter you need retail fw aswell

yea thats what i was saying. because when i go to online users manual from ps3 menu it says that it is the users guide for fw version 4.20, so i was thinking maybe it was just a 4.20 ofw that was spoofed to 4.23. cause i was on 4.21 in demo mode but then it updated by itself when i was playing online. the thing is that i was still able to play games online, then i purchased the -escalation- map pack add on for call of duty black ops but it wouldnt install. and i got error code that said try sighning in with the account that purchased the content.so like a idiot i restored file system, then system software, and finally restored the ps3 system and thats when i couldnt connect to play online, and still couldnt install my add on's. i could only sighn in to psn account and use the internet browser.

You can't make a reverter for it yet as there is no firmware above 4.21 yet but when it comes out I'm sure they will make a reverter.

No. Be patient and wait for Sony to release another firmware, if you don't want to screw up your PS3 more than it already is.

So theres nothing i can do with those pup files to help my situation?
the only thing that i care about is getting back online to play black ops and install my add on's
what i dont get is why can i use the internet browser and sign in to my psn account but not any of the game servers ever since i restored the system
