From what I can tell, JFW seems to be unanimously reviled around these parts. There hasn't been much news about it, and information is pretty sparse. I have a PS3 that's been on 3.56 OFW since March 2011 (my little brother's fault) and I'm seriously considering buying an E3 flasher.

Before I bite the bullet, I'd just like to confirm that JFW 3.56 can't be installed without a flasher, and that I have literally no other option. Do you still need hardware to install it?

If there isn't much information here, you should provide us with concerning JFW 3.56 because it is cloudy around the PS3 SCENE. It will be much appreciated.

JFW 3.56 is a plie of Sh*t , dont waste you time with it . to downgrade and to use any cfw u need a hardware flasher . if u can go to 3.55 then go that way fu*k JFW 3.56 . the reason why there is not much info is because its a pile of sh*t

o yeah to even get off JFW 3.56 id u wanted to go back to ofw u need a flasher .

I regularly check JFW official home , and let me tell you that all development for the 3.56 JFW moved to a new CFW based on 3.55; in other words if they Ever release something, it will be a 3.55 CFW.

This turn of events happened more than a month ago, but I don't think most ps3hax members noticed.

You have to be on 3.55 or below to get on it.

It was noticed. I saw it when I went to the Devs Spanish post about him leaving. Him leaving was here, Not much was said about jfw.

if your on 3.55 then u can install it like normaly but to get out of it to ofw u need a flasher

but eg if you was on 3.56 ofw like the op is then u would need a flasher to install it as u cant install it from 3.56 ofw to 3.56 rubbish cfw like we can do 3.55 ofw to 3.55 cfw . i think the main reason this fw was made for people that had a factory fw of 3.56 as they can get to 3.55
