Adding shoutcast link to the XMB is *much* easier than adding Dropbox save synchronisation to the XMB. The XMB plugins already supports weblinks, making it support dropbox would require writing new code into the plugins or writing a new plugin altogether. It would probably be easier (but not necessarily easy) to modify (the now decryptable) 3.60 XMB plugins and make the PSN+ Save feature connect to a local FTP server. Then add that to a 3.55 CFW.

Sounds like a nice idea. It could be something like this?

Instead of PSN Plus, it could be dropbox icon or Local FTP where your dropbox could also reside in. If devs could make it happen, it will be amazing.

If this app was made and if users feel someone might steal their saves, now there is two-factor authentication option for dropbox! Saver saves!

@gingerbread
This is another approach/idea that I implemented some weeks ago in my FTP Client ... but to be honest I haven't worked much on the bugs/improvements

1- Install and run the PS3 FTP Client 2.9+
2- Set the download folder to your dropbox folder (public or private)
3- Connect to the PS3
4- Browse to /dev_hdd0/
5- Press Ctrl+Enter on the "home" folder to download/sync the folder with your PC

The program will backup your saves/rif/edats/etc. to your download folder.
(The first time it will take a while to download everything)

Then the next time, when you press Ctrl+Enter on "home" folder, it will download/update only the new files. So the download/sync should be faster

Then dropbox will sync everything automatically in the downloaded "home" folder with the cloud... making it available from anywhere in the world

I know it is not the best approach, but it should work too.

A better approach would be a FTP Server running on the PS3 that sync the files directly with DropBox or transfer the files to a PC or FTP.

Thanks for the interesting Tip! But as you mention, a better approach would be a FTP Server running on the PS3 that sync the files directly with DropBox or transfer the files to a PC or FTP.

Sony has officially announced today that PS3 System Software Update v4.25 is incoming and will include an increase to 1GB of online storage!

I believe it is high time that we have a feature like this of our own.

No developers interested in this idea?

I've been uploading files to HotFile (via Filezilla's FTP program) and I never gave Dropbox a chance because the low limitation just are insufficient. Then there's the case if for a free user the files stay online forever or not, possibly it's just to days (30/60/90).

I think you are mistaken about this concept. If you read the first page you will know the concept.

I did read but wouldn't 2 GB be a bit too small? With too many saves wouldn't it fill up the whole box of 2 GB?

PS Plus members now have 1 GB which is good, but saving to USB's safer as it's with you and not somewhere in a cloud where it could be eliminated by an intruder.
