PS3.55 FW what to do
Hi, I'm a complete noob when it comes to PS3. I have a good knowledge of JB'ing Iphones and hacking Xbox360. I was just wondering the best way to go with my mates PS3 thats on FW3.55, I understand that I can create CFW and flash the PS3, but then what? Can I burn disks like the xbox and play the burnt disks through the PS3 or do I have to run a usb drive and if so what is the best software to run the drive through, I've also heard that I need an original PS3 game to do it this way. Sorry to ask these very basic questions and I realise that I could trawl my way throw various tut's that would probably contradict each other. I just wanted a personal perspective on the best way to go and a few links would be nice..
Many Thanks in Advance Richie |

See my sig for PS3 FW files.
Install a CFW and go. (MFW-CEX) EDIT: May I highly recommend Rogero 3.55 v3.4: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/firm...EX/Downgrader/ (not v3.5 it is a POC and unfinished, v3.4 is stable and work perfectly) Then install BDEMUv2 and mmCM from here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ja54y2 and load backups from USB. It's useful to have 1 original PS3 game in the drive to ensure maximum compatibility when running back ups.

Make sure your ps3 is disconnected from the internet will doing this process. 1. Plug a USB flash drive into your computer. 2.Create a folder in the root of the USB stick called PS3. 3.Create a folder inside the PS3 folder called UPDATE. 4.Move 171mb PUP to the directory UPDATE that you just created on the USB stick. 5.Plug the USB stick into your PS3. 6.Navigate to Settings tab. 7.Choose System Update. 8.Choose Update via Storage Media. Choose OK. 9.Accept Conditions and Install Update. After less than a minute, your PS3 will update, beep 4 times then shut down. Power up your PS3 (You will have to do it on the console and not by the remote controller). The booted up PS3 is jailbroken.

Sorry, guys forgot to update you on my progress.. Everything seemed to go ok, I've managed to JB and install the .PKG files. Also managed to d/l some software and install it on his HDD but he doesn't own a game, so I was unable to test to see if the 'software' I installed on his HDD drive was working ok, I assume so, just waiting for him to buy a game and then test it.
Just one final question, which is the better manager GAIA or MULTIMAN.... or is it the sort of augument as butter or marge? lol |
