IMHO I believe there are plenty of people out there who could hack the crap out of the ps3. Geohotz is not the only person who knows his stuff. Not discrediting him at all, but I'm sure he isn't even the cats meow at it. When he hacked the ps3, there wasn't half the security measures there are now. There are probably better hackers out there. I think people are just scared to even mess with the ps3 because of the geohotz law suit. If they did manage to hack a newer firmware, and released it, they could be right in the court room with Sonys high paid lawyers. Sure, they could release it anonomesly, but then they wouldn't get credit for their hard work. Tell me to shut up if I'm way off target here. This is just my opinion and I am in no way an expert.

ok so been looking for sometime now on how to jailbreak my ps3... here is the conditions... its a spare ps3 so i dont care if i cant play online and i dont want to buy a usb dongle.. it is fully updated at the moment.. is there any way to hard mod jailbreak my ps3? i did something similar to my psp where i had to make a pandora battery... just wondering if its possible yet without that darn dongle

you need an e3 and a fsm dongle to downgrade, no other way to go right now
