My PS3 shows up too bright
I don't know why but when I boot up my PS3 it's just so bright in comparison to my Xbox 360 which is at a balanced level.
For the comparison I used Sonic Generations demo on 360 and PS3, and on PS3 it was just so damn bright, I did go to the PS3 settings turn some stuff off or to other options, but nothing. Still the same. I'm not too worried about it since I don't use my PS3 very often but if I were to play often on PS3, I surely wouldn't want this at all. Note: They're connected with an HDMI cable at 1080p HD (32" LG HDTV Full). Thanks. |

Just adjust the brightness levels to your preference when playing games on your PS3. The same for your TV too.

Are you connecting using the same HDMI in the TV? try using another HDMI port for xbox and ps3 so that way you don't have to adjust settings each time.
Thats how my TV is setup

No, it's two different HDMI cables. Both are gold (bought them from Amazon.co.uk), if it matters. |

OK so when you switch channels. Doesn't the TV save the settings for each channel? or does the TV settings apply to all channels?

Ah, the HDTV has different settings for each device (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, AV 1, AV 2, etc) so I just had to configure it and now it's fine.
Sorry about this, but I thought it was something to do with the PlayStation 3 itself. |

fanboysarestupid : Its not just your ps3...ive experienced the same..generally ps3's gamma levels are high compared to xbox360..i had a 360 too..by default ps3 looks brighter..but if you turn on deep colour output hdmi option and rgb full...things might look similar..

^ Also did that, now it's much better than how it looked before.
Though, still not quite exactly like on Xbox 360, but oh well, it's close enough. Topic can be locked now. Thanks guys! |
