Hi everyone

My CECHC04 got ylod a week ago, since I have it for 5 years, and now with the 3.55 kmeaw, there's some problem in sending my ps3 for repair/replacement, since it have a CFW inside?

-They ($ony) have some repair program for ylod ps3? (I spent 500€ in this 7kg brick -_-)
-If you (yes you, who are reading this), already have your ps3 YLOD(ed), and repaired it somehow, can you tell me how you done it?
-Is possible to remove my kz2 disk without open up the console?

Sorry for my english (is not my native language), and if I sound rude is because I'am a bit upset with this ylod story...

1- Yes they do, But they replace your PS3 with a new(ish) one.
2- You can use a hairdryer to Reflow it. Or you can get it Reballed
3- No. You have to open up the BD drive and take it out.

There are people here that can fix it for you.

Maybe you can get the disc out using the ps3s 'fan test mode'. Im not sure if your model has that feature but you can google it. I actually bought a ylod cecha01 ps3 on eBay and fixed it with a heat gun which many frown upon. The first time, I took it to some guy who fixed it for 25 bucks but it only lasted a couple of days until it got ylod again. I decided to do it myself with the gilksy tut. First time no luck and the second time it turned on but with a green snow/ matrix screen. :'( a couple months later I did it again, deciding i would only heat the cpu and gpu, this time putting some kester 951 flux and covering the board with foil, leaving holes for the CPU and GPU. I spent about 3 minutes moving in on the chips, then 2 minutes on each chip, and another 3 minutes backing away from the chips and voila! It worked I know it's not recommended to heat the chips for so long for whatever reason but after trying to fix it three times I really didn't give af. Now the only thing is that the fan kicks into turbo after about 5 minutes so i have to play it with my ac on. I'm looking into lapping the heat spreaders and replacing the paste underneath them which is supposed to fix that problem.

Welcome to the YLOD gang. Don't nigga rig it by using a blow dryer and improper thermal paste like mayonnaise. It won't last very long.
