God is a label, the real question is 'Is there a Deity?'

Simple answer is Yes as we have throughout history created him/her/them etc.

Whether they have an actual existence cannot be answered as go back a few centuries and today's level of technology and abilities would have most of the then current civilisations worshipping us as Gods.

The alien idea is much more plausible than a deity, but is laughed at by most as it is hard for man to come to grips with the idea that he is not the 'King of the Castle' lol

I am i born catholic but i havent been to church for like 8-10 years now....and why is that?....to me the church on the hold and everybody in it is there to brainwash u,thats why i prefer to live life the way i think which is rite by being fair and honest,and most important have the strenght,wisdom and being rightous.i do believe there is a god but not what the bible or the churches lead us to think and to me its not right to question whether there is a god or not but to ask what is/was the reason for life......!!

Most people need to have something to cling onto, hence the word faith when talking about religion. Is not in itself a bad thing, it just gets twisted and abused by the men who need power and control overs others.

I do know (as much as I can without a time machine lol) that Christianity was supported and more than likely actually started by the Roman hierarchy. Not so much to keep the masses in line but to keep them unified as the order and structure the empire had built and needed was starting to collapse and splinter.

So I guess all those kids starving in Africa just don't really want to be fed or cured of diseases and parasites. It's their own fault!

The Secret sounds nice and fluffy and happy for people living comfortable lives, but part of its message is basically that you have to blame suffering people for their own suffering, because they must just not want to stop suffering (or they would).


And God? God is an idea we invented in the infancy of our species, when we knew little and less about the world and who and what we were, as a way to quell all of our deepest fears - an answer to the most resonant unanswered questions about life, death, meaning, and origins. God is not a being which exists in this reality or any other; God is an amalgamation of all the reassuring answers we have dreamed up to troubling questions.

Think of all the questions that haunt humans deep into the night - Why am I here? How did we get here? What will happen when I die? Where did it all come from? How can I know right from wrong? God is just a character we've invented that conveniently answers these questions and more.

The belief in god(s) or higher power is something we humans used as a scapegoat for our stress/problems/fortunes to help soothe us and give us confidence and purpose. For example in Norse mythology soldiers call upon the Valkyrie to help guide them through battle and if death ever occurs for the warrior let it be a honourable one.
