PS3 HDD SPACE QUERY
Hi Guys,
Got kmeaw PS3 250GB. Got a few PSN games installed via xmb and a few back ups but they do not amount to 250GB worth of space. At one time had lots of 4GB movies which I have since deleted. Thing is I had 16GB left of available space on the HDD when I had one of these movies left. When I deleted this from the video xmb, I still only had 16GB free. I think I just deleted the shortcut, i there a folder these get saved to which I need to clear to make more space? |

Delete the installment data for games you are not playing any more and the PS3 UPDATE folder in your backups(you can access them via mmCM file manager Select+Start).

Movie space question...dunno, could just load a file manager homebrew program and have a look round. |

If you linked your movies to showtime it gets duplicated into showtime. I didn't realize this for a while, and had essentially 2 copies of each video on my PS3. Just open mmCM and under video delete the clone vids there and they wont delete off your actual XMB video column.
I think if free space doesn't show up after definitively deleting files: rebuild data base option in recovery mode might resolve that.

@DEFAULTDNB
- had a browse through the folders via both MM and Shpwtime but could not see any cloned videos. You dont happen to know the exact folder these files would be in if ST duplicated them would you? Cheers.

If they aren't showing on mmCM then you mustn't have any :/ No idea what folder they would be in.
I'll take a look in a bit...

I didn't know Showtime duplicate video files. You can also delete any music, pictures, roms, and etc. you have copied to your internal hdd to free up space. Also delete any foreign language files in your backups like the update folder. Everything will still continue run like
@DEFAULTDNB
stated in his previous post.
