Metal Gear Solid HD Collection POSSIBLE PARAM.SFO FIX - PS3Hax Network

For those that are still having trouble with this game, I think I got the answer, guys!

The secret is: ORIGINAL PARAM.SFO!!!!

I downloaded the game, installed the EXEtrimALL patch, then launched it. Didn't work, as I was expecting. So I figured it out, and here is a small tutorial that should get it working.

1st: With the game already in HD (I only tested internal), go to XMB and install the EXEtrimALL patch through Install Package Files.

2nd: Go to the folder where the above stuff was installed. (HDD0/GAME/BLUS30487/), copy everything inside this folder, and copy everything inside the USRDIR folder too. Paste it in the respective folder (HDD0/GAMES/BLUS30487/PS3_GAME AND HDD0/GAMES/BLUS30487/PS3_GAME/USRDIR.) Remember, everything!

3rd: Download the original PARAM.SFO (you can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?8yo5f8oalrzx8yb) (It's zipped, along with the eboot and other stuff that aren't cracked to run on 3.55, just ignore everything else)

4th: Put the ORIGINAL PARAM.SFO in the game folder where the PARAM.SFO is supposed to be (where you can find PIC1.PNG and all that stuff as well) (my folder is HDD0/GAMES/BLUS30487/PS3_GAME)

5th: VERY IMPORTANT: Fix the game's permissions using Multiman.

6th: Launch the game!!!!

So basically: MGS HD COLLECTION not working > MGS HD COLLECTION w/ EXEtrimALL patch > MGS HD COLLECTION w/ EXEtrimALL patch PLUS ORIGINAL PARAM.SFO AND FIXED MULTIMAN PERMISSIONS = WORKING ON CFW 3.55 FTW!!

(Sorry for the n00b level tutorial, I just wanted to help everyone, even the ones that lack of PS3 expertise.)

Gna give this a go. I got it working with the patch and did the whole getting rid of the EU in a few files (I have the EU version of the game) and it worked. Was so happy. Now I went back to the game a week later and Peace Walker is the only game that loads. MGS2 and MGS3 black screen. Would be very greatful if someone knows why. Quite frustrating

i wish i was in your shoes. i only want to play Peace Walker in HD. The other two games work for me. not Peace Walker

The thing is, the patch is a release from EXEtrimALL which means it isnt just anything on the web. One day it was working, and the next it wasnt. I deleted and ripped the game again and did exactly what I did before and it doesnt work. Rather odd. Thats why Im willing to try anything right now

Just wanted to know if anyone else is facing the same problem as I am thats all. Hopefully I get it working and if I do I'll post back

That would be mine and I was asking if anybody has managed to get the game to run as I was having problems running pw/mg/mg2ss (i fixed pw but not mg/mg2ss). I don't mean to sound demanding either but this is a forum dedicated to troubleshooting games that aren't running (for one reason or the other) on cfw....

Dont be negative

I see this thread like: there is a problem with the way this "fix" is installed, and @Aleson has tracked the problem and found a solution

I have not taked a look at the files, but seems obvious the problem is in one of the .SFO's
So if anyone is interested in fixing the "fix" (because something seems to be broken)... this info is useful to understand where the problem is
