I bought a demo mode 3.01 ps3 phat, what do i have to do to update to retail 3.41 or 3.55 firmware?

You need to revert to cex(retail) then update to 3.55

As ps3hen said, that's all he needs.
@jjustinfer : Download whatever CEX CFW 3.55 or under you like, then download MFWBuilder 0.2 - LINK and using a 3.55 update .pup, point to that from "original firmware" and select the destination to send the built CFW. The main task you need to select is: "Patch firmware for installation shop/promo unit" - located towards the bottom of the list If you use Kmeaw - LINK as your base 3.55, it saves you ticking all the other options necessary (also saves me typing them!) to add it's functions.
