So I found this post in PSX-Scene

I have been trying to make Mods for GTA IV work on my PS3, but I always end up to a failure, and then I see this post from PSX-Scene, NewestIsh V II.
I followed the Instructions Exactly, 1. Delete Game Data; 2. Replace ps3.rpf and Common.rpf with the provided files; 3. Install Evil Package; 4. Install GTA IV Game Data.

So the Problem Starts with Step 4, after Clicking GTA IV from PS3, I expect to see the Rockstar Logo first but after a couple of minutes waiting, there's nothing, just blackscreen.

I think this happens because of ps3.rpf, because I have been modifying common.rpf several times before and it is always working. but whenever I replace ps3.rpf it always end to a blackscreen.

Anybody knows a solution to this? I really like to make this Mod work..
I think there is just something that I still don't understand,

Perhaps since it was posted at psx-scene the best place for someone to assist you is over there? I would certainly help if I had a clue, but do not.

Also, I didn't see any posts in the GTA section about your problem. Nativesith is a busy man, and might have missed the one comment. Like @donglehater said, it might be best to make a thread over there concerning your problem, so other GTA Mod Team members can assist you with the problems, like EvilB. Just make sure you make it in the GTA section so they all see it. Good luck!

So I'll post here instead, I didn't even include any Links here..

Hi Peepz, ever since I figured out about GTA IV Mods, I've been trying to make it work in my PS3 but I always end up to a failure, after following many TUTs, I was only able to do the Mods about editing the weaponinfo.xml, (sorry I forgot what are those apps that I used). anyway, somehow, what I notice is, whenever I replace ps3.rpf, that is when I fail. First, I always delete the game data (PS3 System>Game Data>GTA IV), then replace the rpf files (common.rpf and ps3.rpf), then install game data. After these, Screen wents Blank, for a couple of minutes. that is why I can only use modified common.rpf files. Also, if I try installing Evil Package only, without replacing any of the rpf files, installation starts and finishes, but what I encounter this time, is infinite loadscreens. Now I found this post by Nativesith, NewestIsh V II, and I wanna give it a shot (sorry, I'm a new member and still cannot post links). so following the steps, still ends up to a black screen. so I give up on repeating the procedures. Here's is my case, I am on rebug 3.55, my GTA IV is Complete edition (with the EFLC), when I first saw the Modding thing I can't make it work, and since my brother is always updated to this jailbreak thing, he thinks that it must be the eboot. So he change the eboot of my GTA IV (before BLUS30127; after Bles..559, something like this) to an eboot of GTA IV only (without EFLC, I still have the backup). Then I was able to make the Mods with modifying the weaponinfo.xml only, But those with changing the ps3.rpf are Failures.. So anybody who can, help me?

Damn shame no 1 wants to help or comment much to these post. I'm also, trying to do this, on gta 4 complete. Nav, told me personaly. That all scripting for gta regions are the same. BUT I can't make any of my patches work, either. And I have most of the most resent 1s. Smh...

I've seen tho, for most these to work, u need to run the game externaly for the game to 'run'. And the 1.06 patch update, for the mod patches. For udate versions that are newer. I beleve, all the original work, was done w/o a cd patch, (altho, that's what I'm using) It's a Good thing, I never list my psn account. Or I'm sure, I'd b berraged w/ positve pms from new hax. And ban rquests from senior hax. Plse let me know, what u find tho. Via pm, here.
