so if sony left the 4k capability out and say "naughty dog" made a statement saying how uncharted 4 would support 4k but sony didnt deliver the hardware so we were stuck to 1080p, what would your reaction be to sony?

i think you smack talk consoles far too much.
blame developers for lack of implementing features, not the manufacturers.

Yeah it is for PS3. Theres about 6 games that allow for this mode. GT5 and Killzone 3 are meant to be 2 of the games. I think the only TV it works on is the 3D Playstation TV and those units only come in the 24 inch model. I could be wrong since the TV was released last year and they probably put out a couple more models this year

I believe the standard resolution for next gen games will be 1080p, like 720p was for this gen and there will be the occasional games that will support 4k, like WipeOut and GT5 were 1080p this gen.

They doing it to future proof. Thats what sony does to lure in the average consumer and for people who dont buy it just for gaming

2000 : Buy a PS2 it plays dvds aswell!
2006 : Buy a PS3 it plays blu rays at 1080p! (there were only a handful of 1080p tv's out back then)
201X : Buy a PS4 it supports future 4k resolution TVs (Ultra HD for the non techies) and plays blu ray 2.0?

Sounds at least plausable to me

I believe he is right, because any resolution above 1080p would require equipment that are not yet very popular worldwide.

1080p or 720p devices were not very popular when the 360 and PS3 where released, in fact both consoles probably helped sell many of those TV's.

Just like a 4K resolution games console would help sell 4K TV's and to be honest in the next console does not have 4K, ill be sticking to PC gaming

Sony were going to allow the PS3 to have multi-screen, not sure why they decided against it.

@LoboGuara i remember when 3d gaming was new and people said the same sort of thing due to 3d tv's being at the time, not very popular/expensive etc
