Quick heads up:
The new multiman 04.05.01 [DEX] does NOT allow you to flash your CEX dump to revert back to CEX! I had to delete mM, and install an older version (04.04.05) then I could flash the CEX dump normally. Beware!

There's a way on DEX 3.55 download Rebug lvl2 loader. Extract the lv2 kernel from a cfw like kmeaw then ftp the file to the root of your devflash(not inside any of the folders). Install lv2 loader package and run lvl 2 loader it should boot your system with the lv2 kernel temporarily so you can use ps3 usercheat.

member request:This method can cause RSOD if for whatever reason you don't follow instructions and decide to touch any of the folders inside the devflash.

Whoa, i heard some speculation about that, but never found out if it would work or not.

Not to distrust you, but what is your source? Does it tell you which file is the lvl2ldr? Specifics weren't provided. But thanks again for sharing.

http://rebug.me/lv2-loader/ read that follow the instructions then activate devblind with multiman and copy the lv2 kernel to the root of the devflash( Devblind). Since you said you needed to be sure i tested the theory just now using an older multiman since the latest version not activating dev blind for me. So yeah ps3 usercheat package booted after doing the process i just explained above.

Edit: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=42249&page=2 source where i heard it worked and i just tested it just now so it works. This was the only thing i was missing on DEX.

Thank you for sourcing, the file in question is lv2_kernel.self as described here...

ok enough ps3usercheat talk, although this was the only other thing I was missing from my install as well.

Thanks again @spectlze , I was following that thread too, but wasn't aware a fix had been realized.

Ok to help you out download ps3 MFW. Open up the program select CFW kmeaw as your FW source and whatever name you want as modified firmware then uncheck every choice there. Select patch lv2 kernel then click on build and the program will fail (that's what we want). Now check your C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Temp\PS3MFW\PS3MFW-MFW\update_files\CORE_OS_PACKAGE inside there will be your lv2 kernel elf.

This is my last off topic post if you need any help just send me a pm and i'll help you out.

Thanks again for sharing, i got it the second time around, but sometimes crucial info (like whole file names) are sometimes left out of these discussions. (not ours but from the previous one in the ps3usercheat cleanup database thread)

Was only trying to spell out info for others so that way "teh newbs" won't pester with repeating questions. (Like me! lol) This thread is gonna get closed because of us for off topic discussions. Total my bad mods.

@spectlze

Messing with devflash could cause RSOD.

Please include warning labels for these kinds of instruction. New users/members could follow them blindly.

Thanks.

It clearly does say root of the devflash no need to touch the folders inside(those will definately cause RSOD).

Edit: Added a warning
