I would suggest using 3.41 OFW first Then remarry the BD drive with 3.41 and then Go back to 3.41 OFW then update to 3.55 OFW then go to a CFW (Just to be safe)

Wow....things just got complicated. I appreciate your help. I need to do some research on remarrying. I have a read a little bit before about it, but just enough to be dangerous. Anyway, I wonder if put the codes for this demo mode in to unlock it, if the disk drive will start working? Like maybe that is something that is disabled. Because this console never even has a standby light, when you turn the switch on the back on, it turns on automatically, so some settings have been messed with.

No Demo PS3's are still retail PS3's just with The demo FW so its Practicaly the same, No BD checks are on it.
And no the BD will not just start working; The Logic board has another PS3's marriage code on it (hence the need to remarry) By stand by light do you mean the Green or Blue one (The blue one is for the BD drive if it has a disk in it.) if its the green on it could be screwed up (the ribbon may be broken a bit)

I am talking abut the disk drive that is in it already the original one. When I opened it up, the oriiginal bd drive wasn't even plugged in ( e small clip up front was unplugged). I plugged it up, but it still doesn't take disks. I thought maybe since it was demo mode, that it might be disabled in the firmware because on demo mode they just load demos and not disks. The standby light I am talking about is e red led that is on before you turn it on. When I give the unit power in the back, it just turns on. I never have to press the power button. If I hold the power button down it will shut it off,but it doesn't go to the red led. No LEDs at all.

Is there anything touching the connecters for the power button. Is this a FAT model?
I'm pretty sure the original Bd Drive is F----d so yah... or it may not be the original.

@tjhooker73 Ok. Just making sure we were on the same page pertaining to the disc drive. I was under the impression you thought that I was talking about a new drive. I guess the original is junk, so I will have to worry about replacing it later. I looked and this disc drive is different than the ones from my checha01 I have. Anyway, to answer your questions. It is a fat, chechg01. Nothing seems to be touching the connectors for the power button, but I will give it a second look. It isn't abig deal since it turns on. I also cant turn the console off from the controller or XMb because it says this feature is disabled on demo mode. If I move on without a disc drive since I don't have one to replace it, can I make a mfw of rogero to get the compatiblity and features but have no bd?

Nevermind. I just remembered I can't install pkg or runs backups without a logic board. Damn. Back to square one.

With BD_Emu You don't need one to play Backups or some homebrew. So make a Rogero with no BD check and then install BD_Emu and you should be good for the most part.

@tjhooker73 Nice...that's what I wanted to hear. I already have a few cfw consoles so I planned on selling it on here to help someone who needs one out. Any idea what I should sell this thing for with the bd drive messed up on it? If you don't want to say, I understand. I was going to post it and just take offers.

I will take it for $5 and cover shipping :D I REALLY need a 3.55 PS3 + I have a good BD drive from my broken FAT - I can trade it to you for parts maybe?

It has a broken capasiter that needs to be resoldered to the board, It has a broken power ribbon (So button won't turn it on) and it has YLOD (That may be fixed ( I reflowed it) but cannot test it because the cable broke) Every thing else on it is good though.

I have to respectfully decline. I am a hardware guy. I currently have like 10 or so consoles in my basement for parts and such. I try to help people out who needs parts, or fix them and sell the consoles cheap. Sometimes can fix them, and the ones I can't go in the parts pile. This console was a good deal, but $5 wouldn't cover what I have invested. Thanks for the offer tho, and the help.
