Hey I know you like the Xbox pad, I've had it for years, since I had the 360. And you know what I will say, the D-Pad is the WORST D-Pad on any console ever, worse than the old nes pad. Also, the analogue sticks are bad for your thumbs unlike the PS3s

I feel the same way about the 360 controller. IMO, it's the best controller (well, gamepad to be precise) ever made.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Dual Shock is second to none; and I'm glad Sony decided to go with it instead of those ugly boomerangs we first witnessed at E3 2005 because many people were saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Plus it provides a familiar feel for those with PS1 and PS2 libraries.

But yeah, I think Microsoft beat them. I especially like the one they have with the transforming dpad. One other thing they did right is their controller chatpad. The PS3 one is on top so you might have to shift your hands to reach all the keys, but the 360 incarnation is in the proper place (at least that's how it feels.)
