Error 80010017 issues. Can't figure it out!
I haven't booted up my PS3 in some time, as I used to have some serious game issues. So today I thought I'd start over from scratch. I installed OFW 3.55 and then threw on kweam's 3.55. Updated the newest MultiMan and put on the newest 4.11 spoofer just in case. And now games that used to work are no long working (ie: Dynasty Warriors 7).
I've tried running it through ebootfix, changed the param.sfo (although I'm not entirely sure how the app works), even went as far as uninstalling it and redo-ing it. At first, it said it wouldn't work on 3.55 and required 3.56. The spoofer fixed that and allowed me to update the game version to 1.02 (I think 1.02!) and now I keep getting error 80010017 everytime! Any help would be appreciated! Even if the answer is to redo my system under another firmware, or w/e! Anything to get this to work. thanks everyone, always appreciated!! |

Dynasty Warriors 7 only works on the internal HDD. You can look for the eboot fix by searching on the net.
Do not update the game version to 1.02, some updates requires higher firmware 3.55+ in order to be played. So cancel the game update version when it asks for it. If you already installed the update, You can delete the folder at /hdd0/game/(blus or bles dynasty warriors 7 whateva name folder). Remember its "GAME" not "GAMES". This folder is responsible for the updates. Ensure that you have a bluray-game disc loaded in the PS3. When loading the game, try the settings +/- BD-MIRROR. |

Thanks, you got me one step closer! The error code is gone after deleting the update folder you recommended. Now when the game is going to load up, it just goes right back to the XMB, but at least the error code is gone! Out of the pan and into the fire!

@Necksnapper
Switch to Rogero and report back. (It's not imperative) Just saying
You will run into more problems eventually.

I deleted the game and re-FTP'd it from scratch with no change to eboot, game update or anything and it worked. I guess the 4.11 spoofer is all that was needed. I'm going to go ahead and throw Regero v8.5 on my system anyways. Figure you all know more about this stuff than I anyways!
But thank you both so much for your help! Truly appreciated!! |
