Homebrew Game(s) Idea
So If any you coders out there that know me I am a Java coder. What I want to do is gather with some Ps3 devs and port Java to the Ps3 then we get to use thousands of Java libraries on the Ps3 and create games. I started in GreenFoot when starting to learn Java and it was also fun to create a little game.

I think that Java is already possible through Linux.

I was wanting to port OGRE3D, but I only have a little experience with it, and the render system is awesome. Check the demos. I've also read that an old version of irrlicht has been ported to ps3, and psp, but these are both c++ libs.

It should be but I don't use otheros on the ps3. I think we should do it for CFW so that it opens up a wide user base then we get a bunch of amature games coming out for the ps3 CFW.

I think DefaultDNB is right, why not try BD-J:
http://java.sun.com/developer/techni...javame/bluray/ http://www.blueboard.com/bluray/ Personally I'm not that fond of java, too much memory, too slow, but if that's your cookie, go for it.. But the current homebrew toolchain is using gcc, which if it's complete gcc supports java code.. I would love to see more language support like a visual basic or delphi alike syntax, but then again, everybody has his/her prefered development language, all have their pre's and cons.. |
