Go back and leave it as automatic, then keep moving forward until it ask you to change DNS settings, then set that as your PC ip. Keep hitting next till you're done, then restart the ps3. You also need to make sure your psn account is working fine.

go network settings

internet connection settings
custom
wireless or wired
sett up wirless or wired "for wired people 1st option after clicking wired its auto-dectect" then carry on below

on ip address settings go = automatic

then on dhcp hostname = do not set

then its dns settings = primary dns = ipadress
secondary dns = address

then MTU = automatic

proxy sever = do not use

upnp=enable

save and try to log it
