Slim = NOR
PHAT = mostly NAND (>= CECHH = NOR though) Double check yours here: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/SKU_Models#PS3_Fat

@TenJo
if you have an e3 flasher, you can still get your own dump. Don throw away the console. Are you crazy? If you are going to do that, send it to me. If you solder the wire from sbe on e3 clip ribbon to the nor tristate, you can get a dump, patch it n reflash it and have a working console in no time. When you install a cfw over a downgrade cfw, you soft brick or semi brick. Is happens a lot, and I have helped a lot of people fix this, and I have also purposely done this to 4 or more consoles to play around with. Everyone of them is fixed now.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* @Ichi0729 Both of those links look right. There are some clones of the e3 flasher going around, but without having the flasher in your hand, you can't tell if it is fake or not. Go to e3 website and see what places they recommend you get them from, or write to them and tell them where you live and ask them if that is a reliable source.

Secondly use the search function. Thirdly I'll save you some time: look in my sig below and find the link to minvercheck. download it and run it on your PS3, If it says you can downgrade to 3.55 or below you can hack your PS3, if it says 3.56 or above you cannot hack your PS3.

@Smart60
I need more info. What does it do right now? You can't use bkpps3 from another console. Do not try this or you will cause a perma brick. You need to try and get another bios dump from your console, and then patch it and reflash it. If it is giving you a failed too initialize e3 nor, the 2 switch is on cfw. It needs to be on ofw. If anything it should be saying failed to I initialize nor.

I'm unlucky.
![]() i think you remember my bricked ps3, right? i finally unbrick it by solder a wire from tristate to ground point then now it's work only a green light without Video/Audio/FSM work. then i have try to reflash my bkpps3.bin again but the e3 flashing 3 blue light with text say "start logging...backup PS3 BIOS.fail to initialize E3 Nor." that remind me to put it correctly and it worked before. but i think after i solder a wire on e3 ribbon cable and then i remove it may have caused damage to ribbon. ![]() i try that many times but no luck then i delete my bkpps3.bin because i think it's corrupted or something else. so i lost my bkpps3.bin and i'm trying to recover it right now. if i can't recover my file from deleted or without bkpps3 then my ps3 will unusable?Thank you. |

Yeah. You shouldn't have deleted your backup unless you were certain they were bad. Even then, someone with more experience may have been able to help you patch them as long as all the per console data was there. You need to keep trying to get the flasher clip on the nor really good, because this failed to initialize nor error is from the clip not being seated correctly. You keep saying it is saying "failed to initialize E3 nor.". It shouldn't be saying e3 because you aren't using the e3's nor chip. You are using the ps3's nor. Make sure the 2 switch is on ofw not cfw and make sure the 5 switch is on ps3 flash not ob flash. Try to get the clip seated good and then try to get another bios backup. Also, make sure the clip is on the flasher really good.

You mean can i get another bios backup again instead of deleted backup? If so, there a hope and i'll be happy to see my ps3 work again ![]() and what about if getting or dump a new bios backup from ps3 after was bricked? and that backup will not be a bad dump from a bricking caused? exactly did the correct way of e3 clips the small clip on e3 flasher and the big clip on ps3 nor? i'm really confused what do you mean the clip on flasher? |
