the file was Rogero_CFW_V34_KmeawLV2_LV1Patches_4.20spoof_PSN-access_NoBD.PUP.

I changed it to PS3UPDAT.PUP and installed it from Recovery like I always have.

i understand that. my question is, Does it have the install.pkg option on the xmb? you made it sound like somehow it updated to 4.21 instead of downgraded to rogero v3.4

I know, I followed the steps all the way through and everything looks good except the 4.21...I'm a little confused

Well if you have the E3 flasher to hand.... do it again, but redownload the files to be 100% sure, disconnect PS3 from internet, remove discs from drive...

Get the files from the PS3devwiki (FW link in my sig under MFW-CEX > downgrader > rogero v3.4)

OK, I redid everything up to the point of installing CFW. I installed this,

When I check my system info it says my firmware is at 4.21.......WTF!

Edit.....after looking at the readme it looks like it is to spoof 4.21 as of version 3.3.......Correct?

-v3.4 ------ 1- Privacy Patch removed. 2- Added built in PSN/SEN access, which allows going online with this CFW without any additional tools required (This CFW have been tested on many slims tonight, but as usual, use it on your own risk...) -v3.3 Updated the system version spoof to 4.21 to prevent accidental system updates (won't allow going online in any way) -v3.2 Updated the system version spoof to 4.20 to prevent accidental system updates (won't allow going online in any way) -v3.1 BSOD problem on some PS3 machines after downgrade now is fixed..
