if it doesnt take in disc, then either power to daughter/driverboard, to servo and discdetect switches are failing.

I tried the remarry process with no success. The reason why it failed because of my drive not excepting any disc. When it says to put in a BD movie, I couldnt. Thats sucks!!! O well!

One quick question...
I have another PS3 with 4.11 and its the same model. The drive works and everything. Can I get the whole drive(including the daughter board) and remarry it to my PS3 with CFW3.55. but if i want to put it back on the PS3 with 4.11. Can I do that. In the remarry process, do the DRL files get changed in the motherboard or daughter board(board on the drive)? I basically want my 3.55 running instead of the 4.11 but when i want to change my drive back to the 4.11 can I without remarring it. Thanks.

@CopyLifted , Not sure you're still following this post, but I can only hope you are. I'm in the same boat you're in (or were in). I have a CECHH01 (Phat) PS3 that I picked up with the YLOD. Did the reflow to fix the YLOD. Everything is good except the Blu-Ray drive. I have the same issue you describe. Drive will NOT take/pull in a disc. Blue light on front of console flashes, but drive just appears to be dead.

Like you i've tried another Drive & Data Cable. I recently came across the Voltage for the pins on the mother board (12v, Gnd, Gnd, 5v). My 12v pin has very minimal voltage. I'm curious if you every found a solution to your problem? Currently, I'm in the process of troubleshooting the motherboard (board #DIA-001), but is VERY difficult to do when I have no idea what I'm looking for. My next step is to start looking for the fuses that were listed in the thread.

Any input you have would be greatly appreciated.

@nmac48 , there's an almost complete schematic for the fat ps3, easier to track down the connections/fuses

Mr. Dutch, Thanks for the info. This was my first time posting in a Forum to try and get some help. Most information I came across was from months and years ago, so I was skeptical about getting a reply. I'm going to try using the diagram you provided tonight to see what I can find. Out of curiosity, how did you come up with this info? Experience or did you find it elsewhere on the net?

I'll post back with a status update later tonight or tomorrow.

If you still have it, that would be Awesome if I could get a copy. May make life a little easier. I have searched Hi & Low and the best I could find was a 2nd Edition Manual for a SEM-001 board. Just wasn't close enough of a layout though. Are you able to Email through this forum?

Mr. Dutch, Do the Letter/Number combinations equate to something Specific, maybe Part/Model # for component? Specifically, C3246, C3247, R3297, CN3209. Actually, now that I'm typing it out, I believe they mean ....

C3246 & C3247 are Capacitors
R3297 is a Resistor
CN3209 is a Connector

So now the question is, do the numbers have a significance?

Thanks again for the help

@nmac48 , too bad they changed the motherboard for the 40GB ps3, so it's not identical to the 60GB one, that would make life easier.

the schematics is around 40MB, if you provide an email address in private message i could split the file and send it.

btw, did you measure the 12v on the right wire? , it should be the black one.

black 12V
grey 0V
grey 0V
grey 5V

if i'm right.

@nmac48 , you might want to check this pdf out too, it might be closer to your model.

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/docu...0093e-02-0.pdf

didnt know the schematics where to be found on ps3devwiki.

at point 1 you should measure +12V and at point 2 +5V when the ps3 is on.
if at point 3 you don't measure +12V, but you measure +5V at point 4, then check point 5+6
point 5 and 6 should have the same logical level, both low or both high (12V for point 5 and 5V for point 6)
if one is high and the other is low or vice versa, then part 7 is damaged, if the levels are the same then part Q6010 is damaged.

this may get you nowhere since the parts are so small and it's hard to find points for measuring.

Well I have to be getting close (at least narrowing it down). I have ruled out TH6002 & TH6001. I verified that I am getting 12v & 5v across them as required. I'm trying to check Item #'s 3 & 4, but I guess since I'm new at all of this Circuit Board stuff, I'm having trouble identifying them. What is JL6064 & JL9658? Are these the physical pin connections? I have verified that I'm getting 5v on the 5v pin, but only about 1v on the 12v pin. next step will be to find the #5 & #6 locations on the board.

Thanks for the continued help, it's greatly appreciated.

Nathan

Here's a snapshot of what I'm seeing, and I've added a couple lables for the components I checked earlier.

Here's a front a back shot of my complete board.
