Hi Bigbones87, nice to see your reply again.

Yes, the light was on. And if I simply took the cover off (without doing anything else), PS3 started normally. So I guess it can't be the problem of esata station side.

But it seems really hard for me to put TF cover on without moving flasher at all such that it is still firmly stuck to sata port of mother board...

Hmm...I have seen this problem before, but it didn't seem to be so hard to resolve. I would make sure the sata cable is plugged into the flasher really good when the tf cover board is on. I know what you mean about it barely being long enough with the board on to hit the ps3 hard drive dock. Sometimes the flasher is very close to being too small, depending on the model you are using it in, but I have used mine on 4 chechL01 consoles, and it worked fine. It was a little tricky to get it plugged in good, but it wasn't that bad. Try taking the cover off the ps3 and the power supply. Now you should be able to see the hard drive bay freely. Then take the flasher out and make sure the tf cover board is on the flasher motherboard good. Then clip the little clip back on the flasher and plug it into the ps3 hard drive dock. Once you feel it is making good contact. Then put the power supply back on and turn the console on. Hopefully being able to see in the bay from the top side like that will help.

I have to say its really frustrating for me. I still can't get it work. But I made some progress. The green lights were turned on and blue lights were once for a second. What does it mean? What lights should be on when I turned on ps3?

Thanks for your attention!

If it is hooked up Right and getting good contact, you will turn on the ps3 and you will see all the 6 green lights and you will see the blue lights 4 lit then alternate 4 lit. So the 8 blue lights will alternate 4 then 4. This lets you know the e3 flasher is in standby mode waiting on a command.

Thanks for your reply! If I don't want e3 to do anything, how should the switch be? All up or all down? Thanks again!

It doesn't matter how the switches are while in standby. When you turn thr ps3 on the flasher is in standby mode, indicated by the alternating sets of 4 blue leds. Those switches do nothing until you hit start on the flasher, EXCEPT the 1 switch. This is for flash fun mode, and unless you have bricked and soldered a wire from sbe to nor tristate, is switch will do nothing either.

Now I have all green lights and one red light. Ps3 also boots normally. No blue light blinking though. That's because the clip is not well installed?...

If you aren't getting blue lights then the clip is on backwards, or the flasher motherboard is touching metal. It could also be a bad connection on the hard drive end. Make sure the flat cable is attached good to the flasher motherboard, and make sure the flasher on the hard drive bay good.

Thanks, Bigbones87, I made some progress again. Now I have all the lights: green, blue and red. So I think I got the Flasher installed correctly now. Now I have the problem of updating the E3.

I used E3 card reader to upgrade it. When I insert the card reader into the PC, it basically has three drives, one for the micro SD (around 1G space, exactly my SD card space), one for E3 upgrader, and one for 3.97 MB. I put the upgrade.bin file in both root folder of micro SD and E3 upgrader drive. Then I put micro SD card in the TF cover and tried to upgrade E3 flaser.

The problem is when I turned on the PS3, it booted normally while nothing happened to my E3 flasher. According to the tutorial, the blue lights should blink in turns and are finally all on. What's my problem here?

One tricky part is how to put the micro SD to the TF cover. I found the connection quite loose. I can easily insert the card and remove it. It's not like something really connected to the cover. More likely, the card is just "put" there without any support. Is this problematic?

Thank to your help, I made progresses. may you just give more hints? Thanks again!

Yeah, the should be a metal door that slides to the right then swings open. Then you put the sd card in and close the metal door, and slide it to the left to lock it. If you are using the e3 card reader as a sd to USB converter, then when you put it in the computer, you will put the e3update.bin on the micro sd card folder. The one that says 3.97 you will not use, and the one that says e3 upgrader is only used for the e3 reader downgrade.pup that throws the system into fsm.

You can also, hook the e3 flasher up to the computer directly with your ps3 controller charge cord. It plugs in the flasher and then into your computer USB, if you can get the system close enough to the computer. Then you will drag and drop the update.bin
