These last new PS3 model rumours have all been pretty weird...
It's the same as the 4GB Xbox 360... 12GB is a too low amount to justify producing HDDs.

It'll have 16gb of flash. 12 will be user accessable.

Honestly. It's too costly to include hdds with a console. If the user wants one, they can add an external drive, much like the wii-u.

The prices of hdds do disgust me atm, and I'm sure Sony aren't best pleased either. That flood was a long time ago now.

But yeah, a smaller PS3 would be smart. I'd probably even buy one if it came in at the right price, and kept my other running cfw. I have my mancave here, and a wee ps3 might go nicely.

and um... 12gb is kinda... quite alot of room. the original 360 only had about 12gb user accessable in its 20gb drive, and nobody complained then. And HDDs were a buttload cheaper then too.

Are you crazy! do you know how many games take up GB of game data?

Games like

MGS4 - 4GB

Heavy Rain - 1.5GB that's half the space gone already!!

I am most certain there will be a slot for upgrading memory

I see your point, but they're probably just gonna allow for External hdd for installs in some update. It'll really knock off alot of room.

It's a shame they can't boost the ram a bit. They did it with the PSP. Would solve alot of problems with a good few games.

I think I just figured out why E3 Team hasn't maybe released keys yet/CFW and that is because they were waiting for these consoles to come put so anyone who pleases to have a CFW may have one.

12GB does not make a whole lot of sense. Devil May Cry 4, which can be played direct from disk on the 360, takes like 5 GB of install space on the PS3. For a time when things are becoming MORE digital and they want to push digital content, PSN downloads, etc, they should be expanding the space.

Is it possible to have the PS3 setup it's game data to cloud storage? Maybe they plan on doing something like that, where all your games are stored in the clouds.

Maybe Sony figured that Blu-ray's too slow and now it demands to install the game data on the HDD since they don't offer the feature for all games.

Just why not make it optional?

I sure as hell would prefer to install MotorStorm (First game) on the HDD since the game on the Blu-ray takes ages with the loadings.

They bought out a PC based cloud gaming service so its likely they will have cloud storage for PSN/SEN Games also they just increased the storage of cloud on Playstation Plus to 1GB
