Replaced KEM-400AAA, now YLOD??

Ok, so I swapped out the lasers, because it wasn't reading BD's. It was professionally reballed a few months ago, and before I took it apart, I had no issues. I can't figure out what could possibly cause it to throw the error. I tried putting in a disc, but it won't take it into the unit. Tested the motor, it works fine, checked to see if the moving parts are jammed, they're good, and I double checked all the ribbon cables. I'm out of ideas. Anyone able to help me with this one? I'm at a loss...

I didn't remove anything other than the drive itself.

@Hackurs , so what is the ps3 doing now,is it complete dead?

also, there's a schematic for your model, you can check simple things (voltage)

It shows up as a classic YLOD. I tried feeding a disc in while it was off, to see if it would take it, and no joy. I'll bust out the multimeter, start checking. I'm just baffled that it's doing this when all I did was open the top cover and remove the BD drive, nothing more.

i have taken the drive out many times without problems.

i hope for you that it's a simple problem , or it breaking down was just a coinsedence and had nothing to do with you removing the drive.

I'm thinking it has to be a simple problem, and that coincidence just is too convenient in this instance. It has to related to the repair.

I'll give it a try. I'm not going crazy or anything, am I? It's been a long time since a disassembled a ps3- I don't need to reattached the cover or top half of the case to test it out, right? No safety switches or anything?
