Exact same thing for me I miss my PS3.
The pup file is in PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP in my usb key. Any idea why it doesn't work for me??

It means You go into recovery menu to install it.

Holy sh!t, soo excited right now!
Wondering if you could help me out,saw your thread and you seem to know exactly what you're doing.
So, I bought 2 "faulty" ps3's, no further description in the ad. I naturally thought they had YLOD and I know how to repair those.
Fired them up and to my surprise they both booted perfectly. Turns out they run "demonstration mode" which I presume is what is called the kiosk firmware.
So, they guy I bought them of saw this as faulty I guess haha.
Anyway, I read you can convert them back to retail with mfw builder but I have absolutely no knowledge of how to use it and I don't want to mess these up.

One is running 4.10 and the other one is as low as 2.70! Should be able to revert it and then install CFW right? So my qustion to you, could you be the nicest guy in the world and build me the PUPS needed for reverting these Ps3's?
One 4.10 and one 2.70?
