[HELP] Remarry gone wrong??

I tried to follow ps3devwiki guide to remarry on 3.50. I believe i did everything right. But it came to this screen and never did anything else.

I turned it off and back on and i am still in fsm. Absolute failure or what? Thanks

i'm not messing with my ps3's again, almost broke a connector on the motherboard.
won't even try to convert to dex, luck is not on my side, and since you are my friend, luck may turn against you too

hope you solve the problem though.

I have the standalone.cfg on there. The guide says it needs to be cfg/standalone.cfg. I tried to make the file say that but it doesn't let you but "/" in a file name, so I tried cfg standalone.cfg, no luck either. I'm lost.

Ok...so I am huge idiot. The standalone.cfg needs to be in a folder cfg, which makes cfg/standalone.cfg. So I did that and now I get the big pink letters NO. Drive unit failed. I know the drive works. What now?

I've opened my PS3 up about 10 times and sometimes yanked out cables (frustration) and mine still works even recently did a very rushed Laser swap and it still runs fine.

Show me the Wiki Guide you followed and post your BD Drive and PS3 Specs

@zideeq I have a chechg01. The drive wouldNt do anything while it was hooked up. Wouldn't even except discs or anything. It doesn't have a laser. It has bd drive model of bmd 004. I am trying to remarry a drive from a checha01 with a bd drive of bmd 001. I have several of these and have tried 2 so far. One actually had a disc in it and it ejected it when I hooked it up and pressed eject. Here is the guide I am using http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/lv2d.../remarry-3.50/ . I have followed it to a t but I always get the pink NO no matter what drive I try. Thanks for the input.

Hmm, too many variables to troubleshoot.

First have a look at this old post, it just may have your answer:

http://www.ps3hax.net/2011/03/how-to...ther-consoles/

I'm thinking perhaps there is a conflict in relation to IDE/SATA and/or Single Laser, etc. Then again perhaps a ribbon has been damaged, etc.

Have a check with that thread and let me know if you can work anything out because to be honest there really is a lot of possibilities to the cause at this moment. We need to dig deep!

Well someone already confirmed that they got a checha01 working on a chechg01. So i don't think it is a compatibility issue. I havent tried the 2.30 ps3updat yet, since ps3devwiki said it doesn't really matter as long as it is equal or less than 3.30. I will try it with 2.30 and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah, that's correct, 3.30 is the highest FW it works on (for the original leak) but as I said, I could never get the 3.55 version to work, on any PS3 I tried it on. Plus, it's kind of cool seeing an old-ass XMB.

Sorry for being so damn ingnorant about all this. This is obviously my first run in with a remarry. Likei said, I plan on posting the console on here for sale anyway, so bd playback isn't that important to me. I did what you said, and put the 2.30 updat on the flash with the other remarry files, but same thing. Do I need to downgrade the console? Because I am on a mfw 3.50, so if I downgrade I need to go to a mfw with bd check off.

You should go to 3.55 and use these files to remarry the drive. Rename OFW3.30_PS3UPDAT.PUP TO PS3UPDAT.PUP.

Always works for me.
