There is even a way on XBOX 360 to downgrade for f*ck sake which they definitely can't block.

You people seriously think Sony doesn't know what they're doing. They can always do a syscon update which your precious flashers can't dump/flash. Flashing to nand is not a hardware fault, they were designed for that reason, and Sony can take that privilege away with any firmware update that updates syscon.

It's not impossible to block a hardware downgrade because when you downgrade, it's not just the nands that get affected. This is not a 360, I don't know why people always compare the two systems. One doesn't have a syscon - which is the important thing here. I know what I'm talking about. For the PS3 it's almost impossible for syscon to /not/ get updated.

Edit: Why else do you think we have to keep tabs on if the latest firmware can be downgraded or not?

They point here is that not even Microsoft can downgrade their consoles so trust me their will slways be a way and trust me if Sony wanted to block hardware downgrades then they would have already

Hahaha just because Microsoft didn't do it doesn't mean that Sony can't. It's two completely different consoles. There's not that many jailbroken consoles or consoles that have been downgraded for Sony to actually care about them. The only reason why Sony released updates to block cfw/jailbreaking is because producers kept badgering them.

Trust me, Sony can block hardware downgrades easily if they wanted to. They haven't released a syscon update in a while, but they have the power.

Edit: Just read up on the ps3devwiki. It explains it.

This is all pure speculation.

they didn't block a hardware downgrade till this day.. people have downgraded for over 2 years, if they could block it, they did.

It doesn't even make sense to not block it, if they could.

It's not speculation. I clearly said the amount of people jailbreaking is nothing compared to the number of PS3's available. The amount of ps3's on cfw or that have been downgraded isn't affecting Sony. Look on the ps3devwiki if you don't believe me, I'm not some random person who's speculating, I know what I'm talking about. I was the one that first talked about dehashing but was shoved aside because "it wouldn't work." Sony can update syscon easily.

Still don't believe me, ask euss.

Well, Sony just can't get in to our PS3's and change our motherboards and things etc. They can only make changes to operating system files. Add stuff, remove stuff, fix things and etc.

Thank you.

Dude, hardware flashing isn't a hardware fail. So there's nothing hardware-wise that Sony has to do. Hardware flashing is syscon-based. They can do whatever they want to syscon with a firmware update. Red up on syscon and hardware downgrading. I'm knowledgable in that field.
