@baileyscream I am trying to use a whole new drive. It has no disc in it and it has a working laser. It comes from a fully functioning ps3 that got ylod. @playerkp420 recommended I upgrade to 3.55 then use some files he pointed me to. I am going to try that. I have been following the ps3devwiki guide already, but they have a way to do it from 3.50. For some reason it won't work for me. It wouldn't work for @svenmullet either. Only thing that worked for him was going down to like 2.30 and using the old way. If the 3.55 way dont work im going to try this way. I have some ways to try, so I will give them a shot and report back. Thanks

awesome man thanks this is very helpful! Some guy also told me that i need ps3 key also ( or similiar) and that confuses me aswell, and also something about normal USB´s that i connect to the pc or something like that, or am i missunderstanding something? Anyways i will get those items but just want to make sure if i have everything 100%, btw ur awesome

ps3 key is a factory service mode dongle
normal usb is to put the factory service mode files on = to finish the downgrade

just read my main post (post 1) then you should know whats what

@baileyscream Can I use the AVRKey? And I don't have to flash any files to it do I? Or should I just get the PS3Key as there both the same price.
