Metal Gear Solid HD - BLUS30847

Ok I've searched and searched but cant find any help so am forced to post a thread.

I've ripped my US version of MGS HD to internal HD of my ps3. When clean and unmodded I get the usual cannot start the operation (80010017) error.

I've got the Metal.Gear.Solid.HD.Collection.EBOOT.PATCH.103.USA.PS3-N0DRM from http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=40920

Problem is this only contains a pkg file and no instructions. I've got another version of it from another website which contains an eboot.bin, param.sfo, and about 6 .sprx files. I have renamed the originals and copied them over. It also has a bootloader.self file which I can't find anywhere on the rip? I have a bootloader.psarc inside the BOOTLOADER folder?

Anyway, after transferring them in and running the pkg file above, I load the game via Multiman and it then says the disc is unreadable.

Im truly stuck, I've gone back to original version of the rip and tried again but still nothing. HELP please!?

Hey zeeks,

You have the NODRM fix, but you'll also need to download the corresponding update from Sony. Head over to http://ps3pkg.de.vu/ and input the game code...download the official 1.03 update and install it. Once it's installed, you then install the NODRM fix and play! Or, if you want to do it manually, extract the contents of the fix, open MultiMan and copy the content, of the fix, to the game folder on your PS3 HDD and overwrite. Then try run it. Should work either way.

This version fix is NOT for the origional game disc copy! So don't overwrite the eboot, param.sfo etc from your backup copy. This fix is placed on the PS3 HDD; in the game dir created.

I have the Europe version BLES01419 and still havn't found a sure fix.

I also have both fixes mentioned above and have tried all sorts of combos and havn't gotten all games to work. Either MGS2 and MGS3 work and peace walker doesn't...or peace walker works and MGS2 and MGS3 don't. That's where I'm at

If anyone has the Europe version and has managed to fix it I would love them to share exactly how they did it because I followed 3 different guides already and this is the best Ive managed. Hopefully a new method has surfaced since I last tried

Thank you dude will give it another go. I stopped awhile back because I got a tad frustrated and i do have an OFW machine so I can still play the game. I just hate having to change machines all the time. Think I may have done something wrong somewhere though.

I heard you must first install an official update and then this update fix. Is that true? Or is it just this fix and nothing else? Are you running from internal or external?

This is the only game Ive ever had a problem fixing.

I have the EU version as well....you must install the official 1.03 update first. Then run MultiMan and go to /dev_hdd0/game/BLES01419. You then copy the files from the NODRM 1.03 fix and overwrite the origional files (in the appropriate folders). It works 100% for me. This should also apply to the US version as well. MGS2, 3 and PW work perfectly.

@stevorkz i did not install any update and it works great... also on that thread i point you it says nothing on eu version, and there is a 1.01 fix for the us, so i suppose you just need to instal just the 1.01 fix

btw i play it from my external HDD
