Hello all,

I'm Alex, and basically, I have in issue with Sony and their partners that's been upsetting me - I have a lot of PS2 games I want to play on my PS3, and contrary to the PS.Blog section where users can offer ideas for future releases for Playstation - such as utilities, functions, and other things - one thing that I know won't happen is PS2 Emulation software on a PS3 put out by Sony.

This displeases me, deeply. I have a PS3 120GB Slim model - model number CECH2001A - OFW: 4.25. I wouldn't have such an issue with all of this digital downloading that Sony has been putting out, but at the same time I'm fed up with having to re-purchase my old games and wait for certain titles to be put up - some that may never get put up for download.

So, I turn to this ever growing community, asking for your help and kindness to perhaps somehow help me. I'm tired of the restrictions put in by Sony, and tired of having to abide by restrictions of a product that I bought. I want to be able to do with it as I please, not be at the bow of every Sony employee and whim of waiting on them to give me back my games.

Is there anything in the works, or made, that can be done to modify my PS3? I want to go pro with it and unbind my PS3 from the restrictions that Sony has made.

Buy a hardware flasher, downgrade, install 3.55 cfw
OPTIONAL (Install DEX)
Maybe cobra ; with that crappy dongle you can play PS1/PS2 ISOS in multiman. But as I say, Cobra can be hacked in a few days/weeks/months.

Two options for ps2 games on ps3 console. Do what @Hannibal1471 said, or buy a launch date ps3 that has backwards compatiblity. Checha01 or cheche01 are good ones. I have a few checha01 and a cheche01 laying around. They are more prone to the dreaded ylod, but if you take care of them and don't play them for 8 hours on end, then they do just fine. Or you can just buy a ps2 for like $20 and play your old games on it. *****ing at Sony will get you nowhere. They suck as a company. Good luck man,
