Sure, it's not free - that sucks. Get over it.
If you want to fund criminals in your quest for pirated IP, you carry on I am not stopping you.

The combo of the words "PS3" "dongle" should make the keyboard give you electric shocks.

You mean "That many of us use the defense of morals and homebrew to defend what you're really doing - pirating games". Hell, I want this CFW so I can copy as many new games as I can get my dirty little hands on and I'm not hiding behind any type of bull****.

You can laugh all you want while I enjoy newer games.

I understand your points and they are the generic blabbering that comes with these types of threads, but I do agree that it should be free. However, I did not hack the FW or create the CFW so who am I to say they can't charge for it? In the end they aren't charging for the Dongle ... the Dongle is just a tool to use what they are selling which is their CFW 4.21.

I'd have no problem purchasing it even if it didn't have a DRM dongle. How's that for your moral mindset?
@GregoryRasputin you said it before I could

@jennys You are incapable of having a grownup debate without telling the other party in a nutshell that they are a retard and anything they say is dumb. You remind me of squarepusher.

I wont bother with you anymore

Don't forget to use the forum's ignore function.

Okay, Gregory mentioned a Rebug CFW that will do the same as this CFW. Does that mean Rebug is going to release a 4.21 CFW? That's insane if it's true as I haven't seen Rebug ever charge for anything. Free is definitely better. So what's the scoop?

We don't know yet, yesterday a topic emerged notifying us of the CFW post @ PS3Dev Git, our big friend EvilSperm made the project thingy iirc.

He kept denying and telling it was an spoofer, but the project title was clear enough to see through the lies.... this quote says enough:

"Rebug 4.21. This project will contain CFW for both CEX & DEX DO NOT LEAK!"

Search and you will find :D

some really funny posts here well Jennys you sound intelligent and all but really i mean i wish you could see the light here...i think if you asked everyone hey man how do you feel about paying 20 bucks for a usb stick that gets updated whenever new security is released and allows you to backup/pirate the latest games people would be all over it...whether it was drm or not...as you rightfully point out it takes effort and those who have come up with a way deserve to be compensated if that is the case...

problem is this is a short term cash in...for many valid reasons...sony adjusting and the complexity of the security...efforts to literally incarcerate people involved closing of websites raiding of shops etc...so the device will not be supported long term...

Since this is the case we as a scene should not i repeat should not support in anyway especially if in actuality technically a dongle is not even necessary for the exploit or hack...especially in such cases...

here is what i think some are missing...sure i pirate...why am i here...but when a dev or site makes a worthwhile contribution i donate...it's a pretty simple system and if more people stuck to it everyone would be happy...

if you really think an effort that comes from you bypassing security will be safe from others who spend time bypassing your own security you are fooling yourself...this is the nature of the situation...some people like breaking the security just for fun so trying to profit from a security break just needs to be discouraged...

all in all i view any efforts whether they are charged for or given freely as positive compared to the companies trusted computing which limits owner's rights and abilities on a machine which they paid for...remember truthfully none of this happens if linux was not removed...you take away linux installs which was a selling point originally and poof we had hacked ps3 a few months later because some people thankfully realize the rights to a machine belong to the owner not the company who designed manufactured and shipped it to the user since we are humans we should always be allowed to come up with ways to insert our own coding and come up with our own features and apps...

showtime is a great example

the piracy part of it sadly being a negative repercussion but i would argue those who pirate would never have purchased the game originally so no true revenue is lost...

You are FAKE true blue ! You relinquished true blue users....
I don't want your dongle because we found a way to launch +4.21 games !!

True Blue = Fake blue = Blue Disk ....
