or although they dont support the clips with this board will they still actually attach the the 1.2? at this unknown stage then there is a possibility but who knows

perhaps you can ask your supplier (who did you go with btw)

i am in the uk and it takes 2-3 weeks to ship to me from say the usa so my guide is going to be a while.

I ordered from hardstore.com because when I asked at progskeet.com they told me to do so .. Now in about maybe 2 weeks ill have these :

1. Progskeet 1.2 with slave board And PCB adaptor
2. Eclips3 Dongle (dev board)
3. And of course the rest of the things .. pc, USB, wires .. Etc ...

I don't understand the QSB part .. Won't it work on all ps3's ? Or what do you mean?

QSB = Quick Solder Board, they claim that its better than clips, so I THINK it may be compatible on all ps3's,

no
different ps3's have different test point positions so you need different qsb's for different ps3's

then there is the fact that the test points on nand consoles cannot be used for reading / flashing so is there qsb's that line up to the nand legs?? that will be a pain to solder as there tiny

Yeah, thats what I was thinking of, QSB's cannot be connected to NAND legs, it wont be perfect because there are tiny components near the chip

and for NOR, will we have to buy many QSB's for different mobo's ?

you ordered the new progskeet ?

Do they ask u what mobo you have when you order it?

If not maybe they will, somehow, work on all.
But that doesn't make sense, cause nor and nand and all the points are in different spots.

there are qsb's for 360 products that you buy in "sets" and are really cheep. so i suppose you just keep them soldered and just detach them from the new progskeet once your done.

and not yet i am getting some funds in my paypal this weekend so for now i am just looking for the quickest shipper to the uk (the last progskeet took 3-4 weeks) (the E3 took 3 weeks) so dont expect a quick guide to be done.

Hi Again;
will till now i have downgraded 11 PS3, using both ProgSkeet and E3-Linker.
but i had problems with 2 PS3s in the De-Hashing process while using the E3-Flasher. the two PS3s are 3.56 OFW from Factory with "Date Code 0D" but can be downgraded to 3.50.
The Downgrade process went fine, but the De-hashing not. i can go up to 37% of the update and then give me an error 8002F1F9 and it is going in loops. i managed to fix one using Service mode and RSOD fix but the controller has to be connected via USP to work the wireless disconnect after 15 minutes of turning on the PS3. the other one is still in the 8002F1F9 error loop and trying to fix it.
i had a third PS3 with the same model and Downgraded it with the "ProgSkeet" without a problem and works like charm.
if any one has advice regarding this issue please help
Thanx
just a thought but these drives do actually work dont they?
they did play dvd's and bdvd games before you started?

if you have another ps3 then can you swap the drives (obviously change the drive boards as you do it)
and see if the drives work in anothere ps3 as it might be that they are faulty.

they need to be working for the update & qa flag & re-marry to work

and as they all fail it points to a faulty drive

Unscrew 5 silver screws in red securing the shield do not remove the 2 black screws in yellow & Remove The two identical brackets in yellow

i believe in "step 18" of the "open your ps3 > slim strip down" you mean

"Unscrew 5 silver screws in red securing the shield do not remove the 2 black screws in yellow & Remove The two identical brackets in blue"
