So you don't have to include st.dat, the info files and the param.hip. When users install your program and at first launch, it will prompt, "Do you want to download latest database." When users click yes, it will download all the files from your server. |

![]() I think a installer of 0.5 MB is great, light and compact. You don't have to release new installers all the time just to include latest database. For offline database update, users could use mine and for online database update, users could use simply dl from your servers. Last edited by gingerbread; 09-24-2012 at 09:56 AM. |

@aldostools
I am aware that those asian title with chinese cheat titles appear in Chinese characters but in text files, they appear as "????????" I am now trying to convert "????????" to Chinese characters so that I can using translators like Google translators to convert them in English. I have tried copy-pasteing on various online tools converting them but no luck. Could you advice me? What tools should I use. I have attached a file that has "????????". Thank you. this is an encoding issue of txt files i assume. on default these characters cannot be displayed. on unicode it works
edit i think this means the code editor has to be recoded? @gingerbread to maybe avoid this, open original st.dat with hexeditor "madedit" (freeware) and switch encoding to shift jis. then you will see original japanese letters. this is btw a very handy tool to translate japanese games as it has shift jis as default "onboard" to switch encoding in madedit: open original st.dat in madedit and choose under view->encoding->shift jis Last edited by haxxxen; 09-27-2012 at 08:39 AM. |
