Ok, so Can someone confirm that the system should boot up just fine without a BD drive, or will it get a YLOD?

No, I know that, but if I remove the BD drive, and start up the system, will I get a YLOD, or theoretically, should it start up just fine?

If it was reballed. I would say it has to be something simple. A ribbon or cable damaged or not plugged in all the way.
PSU not plugged in correctly or bad wires. Or it could be a faulty PSU, try another one if you have one to try.
Apparently he mentions it being professionally reballed but iirc there were many people on Craigslist that advertised reball but actually only did reflows. If it was surely a reball then like playerkp420 mentioned it might be something loose of disconnected.

No, it was reballed by a professional company. I mailed the unit off, got it back in two weeks. It was a reputable, well known company. Endless electronics iirc.

So what I need to know is, if the BD drive isn't plugged in, will the unit throw a YLOD, or will it start up normally? Cuz if it won't, my next step will be to replace the cables for the BD.
