How do you ROOT a LG Marquee thats on Gingerbread 2.3.4?

Currently I'm trying to root a LG Marquee that is on Gingerbread 2.3.4 via Boost Mobile and I've acquired everything that I believe is necessary for the process. The thing is I used multiple methods already consisting of browsing various android forums detailing the rooting process and even went to YouTube but still no luck. Others have been encountering this problem as well and found a breakthrough but none seem to have post a n00b friendly step by step walk-through including images/videos to help you.

Anyone here willing to provide me with answers? Distinguishing from links to correct content meaning whatever applications that is needed and I'll cross check what I have with what you posted here. This will save time for you wandering what I have because most likely I have missed something you probably posted.

Kudos,

I would highly recommend going to xda-developers.com and finding the section your phone is in. Most root methods depend on your phone manufacturer and model, so it is doubtful you will find much help here.

The official name of your phone is LG Optimus Black, btw. Marquee is the name given to the Sprint/Boost Mobile variant.

EDIT: Found something you might be interested in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1295955

Have you tried using SuperOneClick? Make sure your computer installs the phone drivers both before and after you turn debugging on. Try installing the Android SDK too.

No problem. I lurk on the XDA forums, though my phone is old (Droid Incredible).
