First of all i want to clarify i dont take sides or want to argue with anyone i just said to compose some facts till now(and since this post is in drama i might not stay focused on the topic).

About deank and the DRM dongles:
Deank just adjusted his code to work with the cobra features for money or not, but by them giving him access to THEIR code he had agreed not to reveal it and to deny everything so that people wouldnt bash him on why he didnt reveal the code to the scene.From my perspective out of all those involved in the DRM business deank is the most neutral(still supports the scene with updates) but probably doesnt reveal the things he has access to, so he can continue to be trusted and have access to those to further support multiman in the future.
On the DRM subject in general, i strongly believe that the guys behind X3max are behind TB(or some of them) and maybe the rumored dongle,being an owner of an X3max(Thanks PS3HAX again!!) i had contacted them back when they were advertising the 3.50JB and they were answering me with some info on that, and i believe they have developed plenty of things and keep them, so that each time their device is pawned or get useless due to a scene release, they have something new to offer.
i could go on and on about the DRM but its pointless if people continue to support them, so i will move on.

The "secret circle of devs that suck in every new talented dev":

Thats not what it is really, and i speak of this because many guys post "they have everything and they HIDE it".There are some people(math is/used to be one of them or the one that began the circle) that started sharing their work with each other but decided that since most guys that follow the scene forgot their contributions or bashed them for saying "i have this but its main reason is piracy so i wont release it"(yes that was math),they would not share anymore.They were not many but as time passed the same happened to others and they followed them, and there were some that were onto something BIG(like hacking 3.6+ back then) that were close to achieve it,but in the end they lacked something or were stuck and needed help and they asked some guys from the circle showing them their work,and when they saw that those guys really almost had it, they helped them by them accepting the same aggreement as the rest,"DONT make anything you get from us public and always share your work with the other guys from the circle".And thus the circle got bigger cause by so many talented devs working together they could all complete their projects way faster and better.
But lets not be unfair, not all talented/old devs are in this.I would like to mark some of them and send them our gratitude and respect since they were sued,put to jail or just went underground, so thanks and respect got to Marcan and the Failoverflow team, graf_chocolo, Hermes, geohot(self centered but did release metldr keys) and so many im sure i forget sorry im tired.

Sorry to pack such a large post and for going off topic, but back on topic if he got personal with you Greg then your decision was justified and i would have done the same.For the cobra i wrote above.

Last but most important, i have never bough a DRM dongle apart from X3 but that was a gift from PS3HAX,how could i say no? :P
A note to everyone dont buy DRM **** not only because they slow down the scene and you encourage them to do so, but what most people dont get is that Sony use DRM on everything limiting our freedom over our machines and everyone shouts at or hate Sony, but then you go and buy a dongle that decrypt Sonys PROPRIETARY DRM files and puts their own that uses their device and tells you FREE games,no its cheaper games but still if you want to pay for DRM pay the original developers not guys that reDRM Sonys decrypted files PLEASE.We fight to free our machines of DRM and limitations, but some people go running to buy some new dongle just to play some games or anything that could and should be available for free.
Next time a new DRM **** is announced please remember all this and forget it exists Boycott Them Not Support Them.

Sorry for my blabbering i just hope that some of those that didnt know some of this will be better informed,also greg and the rest of the guys correct me if in my sleepness i made any mistake.

it allowed you to obtain your backups any way you saw fit

TB added DRM to eboots so that you had no choice to buy their product, basically selling a license you had to have to use their warez.
dont forget they also deleted the HDDs of people using competing products

the old dongles had a function that was at the time necessary to jailbreak the ps3. TB was NEVER necessary

Deank is a great guy and I donated to him for Multiman, I use his other great front end that has nothing to do with the PS3 scene called Ripbot264, it's a front end for x264 basically, very nicely coded and worth a donation in itself.

I'm not the sort of person that says "hey if you're feeding me, you can do what you like to me like rape me and be rude" etc. (like many people here are - how long did it take for math to be seen as the "bad" guy)....I was calling him a c*nt well before it became "cool" to...

But I'll say on the subject of deank, he's a straight talking person and acts in a straight way. He's quite brash and forward but I respect his attitude for that. He will talk to the low level fools that we are if posed a sensible question.

One of the best people in the scene imo and I'm sure a top guy off the internet too.

I like his attitude personally and don't blame him at all for making a deal with Cobra, best of luck to him and all he does. Deny it or otherwise, there would have been somewhat of a witch hunt out for him if he came clean on it and I'm not even sure it was quite as clear cut as people make out.

This is the kind of "entitlement" attitude that needs weeding out.....Not the kind of "entitlement" people normally think about with the PS3 scene and those top end developers who give sweet FA and complain how ungrateful we are.

In the case of deank and people winging about him selling his code to Cobra - They need an effing reality check, and fail to understand they lost nothing as a result of him doing so. He wasn't selling secrets or anything like that ala trueblue or DEX leak drama

thanks for the correction japsander.what i meant was that they had coded their dongle with a special bootloader/fw that allowed us to flash any hex available, had a micro sd slot for future expansions(those would be x3 exclusive too) and were advertising 3.50 jb that i can only think that could be done by DRM.So in the end geohot and failoverflow broke the marketing of their toy by releasing the keys and cfw, so they vanished without a trace, and thats suspicious cause 2 days before the keys and cfw hunt began they were speaking to the public via emails and stuff, but after the keys got released they stopped.So their next step was probably DRM and they had some usefull code that never shared and kept it encrypted.thats what i meant.

for x3max, they left us with the added microSD slot unusable, apart from that it cannot be compared with tb, it served an purpose back in the 341jb days and atm stil going strong as downgrade dog so all in all worth the money back then, tb is totally diff and waste of space, maybe they are the same people who know...atm dongles are evil and need to be boycotted as much possible, always a fool going for it tho....they need to smoke some ganjas hehe ....
