And i already said it, that's $15 too many.
They *MAY* have a system like was discussed long ago about E3 statement with a similar speech.
I doubt it's something you pay and you can distribute as any file, maybe they are working (o already sorted out) some kind of encryption that if you pay for this cfw (if it's real) only you can have it and even if you distribute the file is useless for others.

Just saying..

Thanks @hellish for the translations.

P.s: That possible file encryption method along with Blue disk = New *TB* with improvs. You can even go back a little further and remember the fiasco that happened with TB and the update that threatened with erase your HDD data when clones started to appear out of nowhere (i think not even one user confirmed this to be true...but..).
It's the perfect combo if they can pull out something like this.

I think BD means that you need to mail your PS3 to them and they'll upgrade the system for you. You'll never get your hands on the PUP file yourself.

I doubt it's like that since it would cost a LOT more than $15 to mail them a ps3 and i imagine that the buyer would have to pay the price to get it mailed back too plus all the costs for customs too.
I would surely not send my ps3 to some random guy in china.

The price of the dongle has not been announced. $15 was what some random member said on the Chinese site.

Check the post from @hellish , it seem that they indeed priced it at around $15.

How useful would a dump from a PS3 with their firmware via a flasher be?

Some of us with flashers may be willing to help the scene if it was deemed as being useful.

Yeah thing is the combo of the magical .PUP plus the dongle. Can be around 15$ the service (which i doubt) and the dongle? around 30$ or more otherwise i don't see them doing *good* business or getting some nice income.

It could be useful but since we don't know any specific information on this cfw (or if it exist at all for that matter) we don't know just how much.
I guess that patching the dump with the per console info of one's ps3 and then flash it back with a progskeet or e3 could work.

Could be...but in any case they have to contact E3 team and uf6667 for progskeet. (which uf6667 never showed interest in this kind of things = respect).
